A fantastic visit, lead by an expert guide, covering the technological and social history of transportation in London over the last 200yrs. Highly recommended!

My first visit to the LT museum in Acton. A 5 minute walk from Acton Town on the Piccadilly line. Various displays of buses and trains along with an area on the upper level for old station signs.
You are allowed onto several of the old train carriages but disappointing that you are not allowed access to any of the buses. Also a section where the station signs are displayed were closed off.
There is a shop inside where you can buy merchandise and a place outside that serves hot/cold drinks and pastries. Prices are ok, £15 adults, concessions £10, children £7.50 and free for 0-3 years.

It’s a great opportunity to visit Museum depot today. As a huge London transport fan, my son really enjoyed his visit and had a wonderful day. The depot is only 3 minutes by foot from Acton Town tube station. This depot only opens occasionally and you need to check their website to confirm their opening day and time. A narrow gauge railway is functional and really interesting. It costs £1 per round.

Haven't been to the LT Museum Depot at Acton for several years and it was good to go back.

The renovated and partially renovated tube trains and buses stirred memories for me. My husband remembered the trolley buses especially when they went round corners causing the wands to come off the wires forcing the conductors to get off and use a stick to hook them back on again. He also remembered seeing the last trolley bus on the Harrow Road when he was about 6 or 7.

The museum has fun educational activities and the exhibits are attractive for children - but possibly not the very young.

The shop is well stocked and we came away with five posters and a card game.

Catering is a mobile unit so choice is limited to sandwiches, cakes and sausage rolls. Coffee was good as was the flapjack.

It's been even longer since we went to the Covent Garden museum which has a larger stock - but we'll be planning a visit there soon.

If you like the underground or buses then this is a must visit place. Absolutely brilliant and the guides really know there stuff. We attended an open day and was well worth the visit. So much to see and they have a brilliant gift shop.

A must visit museum in London! The museum is occasionally open for public, which needs to pre-book via London Transport Museum website.

The depot is very huge with plenty of well preserved train stocks, station signs and old station facilities. So meaningful place to learn about the history and evolution of this world’s greatest underground system. The staff and volunteers are extremely friendly, and very kind to explain the details of the story behind!

Went for one of the Depots Open Days, and it certainly didn't disappoint! It is really interesting to see other Buses, Trains, Signs and bits of London Underground relics, that can't be squeezed into the main Museum at Covent Garden, and as always there are friendly & knowledgeable guides and volunteers on hand to give an insight into the history of the vehicles and memorabilia on display.

A must visit place for all young and old!! What a treasure to the eyes.... Our little boy had a treat outing. Best place to visit during the cold weather. It is buggy friendly and also has lifts to go around. It's a fair bit of walking to do for the little ones so carry snacks and water to keep them going. Lots of self ply activities to do while you do have to keep a watch.
