We were there with kids, they loved it!
Although it is free to visit you have to book your visit, and if it is full they don't take people without a booking, so plan ahead.
The dinosaur 🦖🦕 exposition is great, but very crowded.
The part about the earth geology is awesome and very kid friendly. There is a large exposition of gems also.
The great hall and the building are also beautiful and impressive!

Another wonderful museum in London! A place to spend a whole day! Astonishing architecture, wonderful collections, kids-friendly place, nice souvenir shops. I found the dinosaur and minerals collections especially fascinating! The curators have done their job brilliantly! The part on volcanoes was really helpful and insightful!

We've always wanted to visit the Natural History Museum and finally got the chance to go this year. Based in South Kensington, it was fairly easy to plan travel to the location of the museum. We went on a Friday during the summer holidays and it was pretty busy but we were able to get round the museum with ease and look at all that we wanted to. It was free to enter and we had no waiting time but we were told by friend to book tickets online anyway so you have a slot time for your visit. Our main area of interest was the Jurassic era so seeing real dinosaur bones and preserved fossils was pretty amazing. We even got to see Dippy the Dinosaur that is currently at the museum for a limited time. Lots of great history and facts on earth and wildlife. Really enjoyed it. Its free to enter and all they ask for is donations towards keeping it open. The only downside I personally experienced was that I bought a salad from one of the on site Cafes and about 20 minutes after eating it, it repeated on me and I spent about 15 minutes in the loos being sick. My top tip would be to eat before you attend, take snacks and a bottle of water to stay hydrated. It got pretty hot in some of the rooms so be prepared.

Great experience. It's really a great treat for free. Very well kept museum. It's quite an extensive collection of specimens. Vast diverse richly detailed sections and each of them is worth visiting. Needs at least 4 to 5 hours to explore the whole museum nicely.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Magnificent collections of fossils and bones of dinosaurs and other animals that is been extinct. They have lots of collections of precious natural stones from around the world and even meteorites. You need a whole day to really explore this area.
One of the good thing about this museum is free. No Entrance fee needed. But if you like to give donations depends on you.

An impressive place, the museum is enormous and you cannot see everything in a couple of hours. My recommendation is to look at the map and select in advance the exhibits that are most appealing to you. The highly popular dinosaur’s exhibit is located at the ground floor and can be busy.
I especially like the Earth Treasure’s gallery with magnificent rocks and gems.
You can buy the museum activity book for 5p that includes a map and nice explanations and tasks for kids.

An excellent place for a nature enthusiast. Free entry for all, open all days. I loved their rock section, the dinosaur section is awesome too. Many of the pieces have an interactive interface that makes the experience engaging and fun! Do not forget to carry some snacks as it does take a minimum of an entire day’s time!
