Always loved walking to this place as a kid as I lived so close by, it’s great to see some money pumped into renovating it and turning into a visitor centre on local mining history. Also attended an outdoor cinema screening here recently which was a great location for it!

Great cafe and great value. Hot drinks only 50 pence, cake only 50 pence. A big park where you can go for a walk, run or bike ride. The winding engine house is free to tour around with a lot of history about the coal industry.

Historic place of intetest. Great tea, coffee, cake shop when open, every item 50p! Staffed by very friendly volunteers. Lovely country park for walking. The winding house is really well worth a look when open and gives a real sense of the historic building and how the area has changed.

Very cute cafe open from 09:30 on Saturdays (post parkrun so lots of runners about), 50p filter coffee, tea and beautiful home made cakes. Value for money, atmosphere and staff 5 stars, I would happily pay a bit more for better coffee! I'll be back for sure, well done volunteers.

Superb place, run by amazing volunteers.

Little hidden gem, grab a coffee and a cake, visit on a Saturday and you can see the winding engine working and have a guided tour.

Lovely country park with some great history.
