I spent a wonderful few hours here and thoroughly enjoyed looking around!
There were some fabulous childrens activities going on and everyone was helpful and enthusiastic!
There is a lovely garden to the rear of the museum, beautiful on a nice summery day.
I was fascinated by the new Pilgrim exhibition which I believe opens officially on 19th September.
There were outfits for children to dress up in and an excellent display including visual and audio stories in the second room!
Very friendly staff, I highly recommend a visit! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is my favourite small local museum..it's have amazing home feel like atmosphere and always have interesting exhibitions.
Keep your eye on museum events at school holidays. They are running really good art and craft classes for kids .

I was born & bred in Retford but never visited the museum, but my wife did. She said how interesting it was, but I thought all museums were stuffy old places. How wrong I was. !!!!! This museum has lots to show, military, fashion, history. The staff are excellent & know their stuff. Well done.

A small and eclectic mix of local history. Free entry. Particularly enjoyed the metal detecting finds

Great museum! We parked outside on the street which is free parking for 30 minutes, so didn’t have too long to look around - we probably could have spent just a little bit longer there.
The woman who welcomed us in was so friendly!!
The museum is full of a wide range of information, a great free museum, so well worth visiting if you want a break from driving on the A1.
