A great little museum with incredibly interesting and passionate staff. My three kids were transfixed and didn't want to leave!

Small but very interesting display of samples of rock detailing the very diverse geology of Anglesey. It is staffed by volunteers and the gentleman I spoke with was a very knowledgeable amateur geologist. He explained some of the types of stone we'd seen on our walks and also spoke about how the copper ore deposits were formed in Parys Mount. This made our subsequent visit to the dis-used workings and spoil heaps more interesting. Well worth a visit if only to look at the map that shows the multiple rock types that make up Anglesey.

If you are a geeky family like ours you will love how interesting this is. My kids jumped from Jurrasic to Cambrian history in rocks and spent ages deciding which rocks they liked best. Nice little walk, pretty flat & easy for mobility. Accessibility 👍 good. Nearby Geological Museum helpers will be happy to help. 2 lovely cafes close by & a chippy back at the Port Square.

Definitely worth a visit. Roger is very knowledgeable and gives an amazing talk on how our planet was formed. Lots of exhibits and books to buy. Something for everyone.

Despite the listing showing as temporary closed they are actually open a few days per week. Very informative and friendly. Usually have hands on displays of rock to identify but after essential refurbishment these are not available but should be very soon. Lovely location and worth a visit whether you are local or visiting, young or old. Thanks to the volunteers for making the effort in these strange times
