This store is packed with Isles of score books for piano and guitar. Plus accessories for music instruments. But it has a limited selection of music instruments on display. I wanted a starter acoustic for around £120 budget and he had only two choices. The seller was patient with me as I tested the guitars which he expertly tuned by ear but he did not know how to play them so that I can hear how they sound when played properly which was a shame. The price of the guitars were about £15 to £20 more than online but I asked if he can throw in a trigger capo which he kindly obliged and that made me so happy. I like the shop though and despite the too few musical instruments, it's still looks like a treasure trove of musical accessories and books.
I was very happy to leave this store with my first guitar and hope to return and explore those books and accessories.

Really cute little music shop, it offers instruments, score books, instruments and it has a bunch of great accessories. Went in for a guitar cable, came out looking at lessons :) great local find! Friendly, helpful owner and relaxed atmosphere

Needed my guitar serviced and new strings. The guys were super helpful and turned it around within a week. Very fair price. What a gem of a shop, crammed with brilliant stuff and gifts for every kind of musician. I will continue to support this cracking local business.

Great shop, packed full of treasures for all musicians! Such good service too- a lot of effort went into finding the right audio lead for me, which they happened to have in stock. I will always buy my leads through them in future.

I love this shop. Rupert, the owner, is incredibly knowledgeable and kind. We bought a beautiful violin there for my daughter and whenever it needs a new string or a repair of any kind they are always so helpful. This is an absolute gem of a shop. I hope we always have it!

I took my electric guitar to this shop to to be cleaned and setup with new strings. Not a complicated task, however the price quoted was almost half of what I ended up paying and what I had requested was not done. Initially I was quoted £37 including strings and ended up paying £58.

I would not recommend taking your guitar anywhere near this place. They are not to be trusted with prices or the work done. When I arrived to collect my guitar the strings and setup were completed but the guitar itself had not been cleaned and polished which was part of my request which they had happily agreed to when I dropped off the guitar.

When talking to the owner of this shop, he seemed to think oh well that just how it is. He was more concerned with the margins he makes as the work is done off site with a contractor. He didn't offer to resolve the problem but begrudgingly accepted to clean the guitar once I had asked. This was also once again not done properly as there was cleaning cloth stuck around strings, nut and bridge and the polishing was just very average.

There are plenty of other places to go for guitar setup so avoid going to South London Music. I dislike writing these reviews but my whole experience was unpleasant and I was ripped off.

So much for trying to support local businesses.

What a lovely shop! Walked past it numerous times, but when I wanted a new classical guitar I was invited to try a few that suited my budget. Very friendly and helpful service! Shop local to keep gems like this one open in our neighbourhood
