I would highly recommand this shop as they are very friendly and knowledgeable. Being a beginner guitarist I wasn't sure of all the terminology and how to correct the setup of my guitar but the owner is extremely helpful and put me at ease while explaining the bits I was unsure about. Very nice to have a down to earth shop owner and not a rude salesman will be returning again for all my musical needs :)

I had such a lovely experience here recently. The owner was so incredibly helpful and kind, and we had a lovely chat while he restrung my guitar. I will definitely be returning whenever I have a music issue or enquiry and I hugely recommend coming here.

Really brilliant experience, took my daughter in for her first guitar and John gave us loads of time and taught her a few chords so she could try out all the guitars. I had considered just buying online but so glad I didn't!

I'm a guitar addict, so my only interest is in that instrument - and I found the stock quite limited here; it's a small shop that caters for every instrument, so ultimately there isn't that much space to devote purely to guitars.

Having said that, there are a few second-hand guitars for sale at a fair price, various books of music and a few other bits and pieces.

I popped in to get a new capo having lost my old one, and found only two options here - the generic 'L' shaped spring-loaded design (which I don't think works very well on some guitars), and a thin plastic one from G7 which I bought for a tenner, although it's quite fiddly and not ideal. I was hoping that they had a Schubb, but in the end I had to resort to going online instead.

The chap working there was very pleasant, although I felt he wasn't very familiar with the items on display that I asked about.

Worth phoning ahead to see if they stock what you're looking for before you travel.

A lovely store with lovely staff and I just love my new guitalele, which I’ve called Gigi. Will definitely be coming back to add more instruments to my collection.

What makes this place wonderful is John. I am in no way an expert when it comes to guitars so I usually get quite nervous going into music shops. Not this one though. Popped in to purchase an acoustic guitar and at the same time had a wonderful chat with John. Indeed, you don't get this kind of service much these days. Goes to show the immense passion that he has for all things music in general. I am delighted to find this gem of a shop and cannot recommend it enough!

I recently purchased an acoustic guitar from Gardonyi’s and I was so pleased with the guitar and service I received by John. The shops was not open due to lockdown restrictions so I called to ask for advice as to which guitar would be best for a beginner. John listened to my requirements and gave me really useful information and advice. He scheduled a video call so he could show me the a few different guitars. He delivered the guitar to my home the following day! I am delighted with the guitar I purchased and wanted to share my experience of this gem of a music shop. Thank you very much John!
