Lovely place for a walk. Great views, pretty stream and ponies. Just like being in the New Forest.

Beautiful place to go for a walk. We saw 6 horses which made our walk even better.

One of my favourite local places. A new forest type vibe in places if you're lucky to see the ponies. A rare little pocket of lowland heath so characterised by heather, pine & birch. A lovely little stream runs through the valley the bottom of which can get very boggy but there are boardwalks & a bridge. Always something interesting to spot including rarities such as dartford Warbler & woodlark. It is an SSSI so dogs on lead due to ground nesting birds & ponies.
A few well placed benches enable a pause to sit and admire the views.

Quiet and beautiful.
Great to walk your dog without running into load of other people and dogs

Not an actual car park, and no many parking spaces around, but we did manage to get a space on the side edge. Lovely & quiet walk Kids love seeing the wild ponies... Good for a picnic, beautiful views.
Would definitely go again.

Nice walk but kind of a shame that you can't let your dog off the lead. If you're going to walk your dog here I would recommend having a retractable lead

This is off the beaten track and not easy to locate for those without local knowledge. Was very quiet at the end of November when I visited. The approach taken to Castle Bottom was through a gravel pit/lake that is being returned to nature. Part of the track is boggy and may well be very wet during the winter. Some of the track is on a boardwalk to help protect the natural habitat and keep your feet dry.
