Beautiful walk and lots of fun spotting birds, squirrels and different trees and plants as well as waving at trains from the bridge

Used to run around here as a kid. Back then it was painted a bright white and didn't have any fencing. Built in 1956, up on the top of Keymer Road hill (72m above sea level), it improved water pressure to Chanctonbury Road housing estate on the west side of the London to Brighton railway line. 250,000 gallons. Gets windy up here in winter. Some nice open field walks around here. Only one place to cross the railway though. No parking nearby for cars.

Great place to walk away from Brighton. Beautiful views of the downs and perfect for off lead walks. Not too challenging either.

This is my favourite walk..
Summer and winter..
The only downside is that a bench was removed from under one of the established oak trees in the field just below the top field with the water tower..
There are other benches, but with no back to them, so it's not as comfortable to be able to relax and enjoy the view of the windmills..
