I had an eye test here first time I had used them ,the test was OK but when the optician saw I was over 60 and had free eye tests she quickly shone a torch into my eye and said macular degeneration and I would have to have eye tests every 6 months ......BUT don't worry I will have to pay its FREE on NHS I might add I had no symptoms whatsoever After 2 years of them sending me reminders I booked a test with another opticians because I had thought the Scrivens test was very odd
My test with the new optician went well and he said for my age my eyes were good enough to be a pilot. I said to him what about my macular degeneration ...He said I had NONE whatsoever NOW I am really annoyed I was prescribed by Scrivens with some thing I didn't have just to get me back so they could claim on a cash strapped NHS for eye tests I didn't need money that maybe could help fund a cancer operation Makes me wonder how many others are having 6 monthly checkups they don't need I have reported this to the NHS fraud department

Went for nhs hearing test. Noise from shop made things difficult. Audiologist was patient and caring
