Optical View

Lovely independent optician, who spent 45 minutes giving me the most thorough eye test I have had. Fed up with big chains and feeling really unhappy with my eyes, she made lots of helpful suggestions to ease my discomfort (no-one had previously told me I had dry eyes!). My prescription was changed and I am feeling more comfortable generally and in particular reading more easily.
I urge you to try this very pleasant independent optician.

I have never had such a comprehensive eye examination. Shameen Amirbayat is highly qualified and experienced and takes time to explain what she is doing and the results. For the first time in 58 years someone was able to explain the rings around my eyes. Shameen is supported by her husband Adam who is extremely efficient and helpful in assisting with the image of the eye and guiding you in the best choice of frames and lenses. I normally just grab the first frame but Adam made me take a bit of time to choose something that suited me and explained the lens options in detail and helped me decide on what I really needed my glasses for which is computer work rather than reading. Something that is normally annual chore became a pleasant outing. Thank you Adam and Shameem, I look forward to next year.

I hadn't been happy with my past opticians as they miss prescribed two pairs of glasses, so after some research found Optical View. The lady optician is the most experienced, thorough and courteous optician I have met and so much so I had my two daughters checked as well. Her husband is the same and we all felt very well looked after, and never pushed towards expensive frames. Great to support an independent too!

Last year during the lockdown, I suddenly got flashing lights in my right eye and did not have very good vision. I was new to the area and happened to end up at Optical View. Shameem saw me and did a thorough examination; she was not happy, so she referred me to the eye hospital. I was diagnosed with detached vitreous gel. Age related and not serious.

A few months later, my vision was still not good, so I returned. Shemeem saw me, and once again, I received the most amazing care and attention and a very in-depth examination. I needed new glasses as my prescription had changed quite a bit. Adam helped me choose a new pair that I am now thrilled with. Vision is back to 20/20. Shemeem also made sure that my contact lenses were a perfect fit and let my try a few different suppliers.

I can't recommend Optical View highly enough. Shemeem and Adam make a great team, and they are both wonderful people.

I went in to my usual optician as I had an issue that needed possible urgent attention. After visiting 3 other opticians I came upon optical view. The optician was really kind and saw me straight away. She was courteous and covid secure and explained every step as she went. Her colleague was equally as friendly as he did his part of the procedure and I felt welcome and looked after at all times. Excellent service in my hour of need. Thank you both. Highly recommend.
