Specsavers Opticians and Audiologists - Penarth

I purchased three pairs of glasses,a pair for reading ,one for dally use, and a pair of prescription sunglasses.
They are all brilliant and were not expensive at all.Jo, the young lady, assisted me throughout the entire process from choosing my frames to the final fittingme which my choice and end fitting.It was first 'glass' service ,(sorry, bad pun).But joking aside,I am very happy as I am able to see better and life is more vivid ....thanks for great service Jo and team.

Great customer service - really prompt for getting an appointment, and running on time. The glasses are superb - delivered exactly when promised and exceeding expectations both in terms of comfort, their looks, and more importantly, correcting my vision. Well done all!!!

Initial greeting was nice enough ... Only to be left sat for 35 minutes without any explanation as to why. (Optometrists was running late apparently) Intelligent enough to deduce that the optometrists was the lady that went to get a Gregg's during the time I was booked in. Laughable!!!

Ordered glasses then lost them and were unable to reorder.
Staff member blamed other staff rather than take ownership.
Poor quality and not what I was expecting.

Great customer service, always happy to help, even long after your purchase they will still adjust for you.
Very clean inside with a great selection of frames to try on.
Eye tests are always on time, quick and easy.

Since my last review, sadly an update. I recently bought 2 pairs of reading glasses from Specsavers, Penarth. 1 lens on each pair of glasses has become mottled - I cannot clean them and they need to be replaced. Specsavers stated quite categorically that the fault was mine, and there was nothing they could do. I have since shown these glasses to another optometrist, who confirmed that indeed it was the manufacturers error. I will not be going back to Specsavers.

The Penarth shop has the worst service I’ve come across. I’ve been there many times over the years but never again. Appointments never run on time snd you are generally sat there for nearly an hour waiting. The counter staff ignore you when you want to check in and two of them had absolutely no idea about the hearing aid wax guards. They just told me they didn’t sell them . I bought my hearing aids from specsavers and obviously the wax guards are part of them too. Badly trained staff in the optical and hearing part of the shop. The Cardiff shop was a lot better.
