Daughter went for bracers after being on waiting list for years, he looked and decided it too much work and fobbed her off onto the hospital and now they are sticking her on another waiting and said it will be another year before bracers can be fitted at least they say. Wait a minute, if we already got to the front of the queue for bracers why do we have to start again in a new queue for the same thing? is this guy here not up to the job? So wasted years of my child's life waiting for something he refused to do and now have to wait again for someone else to do his job. look at the previous reviews I wouldn't waste your time here!

If I could give 0 stars I would. I had braces and retainers fitted at Modwena about 7-8 years ago when I was young. It was done by Richard Cully at the time. I was told by Richard to leave the retainers in water and put the substance in to clean it which I did. The retainers moved position and it was not fit for purpose. Richard told me I left it in the substance too late and had to pay for new ones which I wasn't happy about and said I left it as long as you told me to and shouldn't have to pay for another 2 when I hadn't done anything wrong to it. For this reason Richard took offense to what I said and decided to band me from further treatment and check up at Modwena.

Now about 7-8 years later my retainers have become damaged due to wear and tear and would only be able to get new ones at Modwena as other Orthodontic have said they won't be able to treat me as I had treatment at Modwena. When I called up yesterday I was surprised to be told they are still refusing to see me because of what happened many years ago.
Wow you guys really do keep grudges. This is very unprofessional and childish to keep a grudge after many years especially when I was young and Richard was an adult. I didn't even abuse or threaten anyone other than voice my own opinion at the time which everyone should be able to freely. So now I may have to pay thousands of pounds for new braces and retainers if Modwena don't fit me new retainers which I urgently need.

Update: Now that's a lie because when I called up and spoke to Karen the practise manager she said Richard has made his mind up and we won't be seeing you. Now if that's not keeping a grudge then I don't know what is. I sent a complaint via email but you couldn't be bothered to reply to my complaint, instead responded here. Maybe this job isn't for him if he's gonna get offended easily. I don't expect anything less from an associate of shamed sex pest MP Andrew Griffiths.

my daughter had her braces off after a year and a halfs treatment and what a fantastic result... from crooked and overcrowded to stunningly straight and tidy teeth with a beautiful smile.

whenever we had appointments we were quickly seen. staff were efficient, extremely friendly and helpful with plenty of advice, care and attention.

the surgery is well kept, managed and has a very good standard of equipment and technology with fresh clean tools used each time. staff wear gloves and masks and you get the feeling they are taking your health care seriously.

we are very pleased with the whole experience and most importantly, my daughter was treated in the right manner throughout and made to feel her teeth were important to them as well as her.

Thank you to all staff at Modwena.

Just been to collect my retainers today and overall the whole experience has been fantastic from start to finish. Teeth look great thanks to Richard, plus the staff have all been helpful and professional throughout. Should have done it years ago! Keep up the good work guys!

My Braces Story

How it started

I originally had braces (approximately) aged 13-16 and my teeth are fairly large in size; this was provided by the NHS at my then-local hospital. When the braces were removed, I was given a date to return and obtain my retainer: this appointment was cancelled and postponed for two weeks, by which time, my teeth had started to move. Gradually, my teeth shifted to one side of my mouth, causing a very obvious misalignment; sometimes, when I was in a dimly lit room, the shadow would make my front tooth appear to be missing.

Modwena

I attended Modwena with very low confidence: my teeth had made me incredibly self-conscious and I was at a very low point in my life: I believed my previous, long-term relationship had failed partially due to my unattractive appearance: I was comparing myself against their Other Woman (as superficial-a- thought was at the time) and I wanted to create better opportunities for myself: I came to Modwena before the COVID pandemic began absolutely determined to have my braces before the lockdown/mask-wearing. I was granted this: the journey was pleasant, welcoming, comfortable and helpful, always! I looked forward to my consultations with Richard Cully, Edward Cully and the wonderful Holly.

Once the government permitted the removal of masks, so was my brace: I was thrilled with my teeth. My concerns were always remedied and I went on to have further dental cosmetic bonding treatment - which changed my triangular-teeth's appearance massively: the change looked from standard-to-veneer. The colour-match by Eddie was perfect.

This is a very personal review by myself as I feel it's important to talk about how much their work impacts lives in the long-term: many are terrified of the dentist - it's experiences like these which make it a joy. Thank you so much to you all and I hope you get the recognition you clearly deserve.

i had braces from modwena from 2018-2022, the retainers they gave me didnt work and then when i told them this they had the audacity to ask me whether i'd be wearing them and try to charge me £70 for a new pair. so now 4 years of braces were completely useless as the gap in my teeth has come back despite the fact i wore the retainers they gave me nightly. whilst i still had my braces on, they said they'd do a lot of things to help the braces work (such as, remove some skin between my top two teeth and built up two of my teeth) and despite the fact i said yes to both and they said it'd get done, both times they made the decision for me and didnt do it. every appointment is with a different person and they don't communicate at all, i do not recommend this orthodontist.

Richard is extremely arrogant, rude, loud and patronising
He took my braces off far too early and my teeth are still crooked, thousands of pounds down the drain! So disappointed in his terrible work
Then in my checkups he has the audacity to question me if I wear my retainers when it was his poor work done in the first place
The rest of the top reviews are paid or from his friends
Do NOT go to modwena orthodontics!
