Here is the details of the incident : I was waiting to get into the car park of the Oxenholme station but it was not working. I pressed the button to call the office but the line got hung up before I was able to get an answer from the staff. I pressed the call button and waited again - I am aware that the car park is not managed by Virgin so I am intentionally writing briefly on this part. From below is the part where my unpleasant experience is directly related to Virgin Train staff.
Virgin Train staff at the station named Richard (wearing red fleece looking jacket / jumper with a walkie talkie in his hand. I got his name via another staff at the station ticket office) stormed in and started shouting at me from about 3m behind my car "Move your car! You are blocking other cars!" This was completely unnecessary as all that was needed was an explanation that the machine was broken and that I can pick up the parking ticket at the ticket office. Instead he kept on screaming from behind my car and never actually came by my window to talk to me properly.
I was shocked and annoyed, and told him "it's because the machine is not working and there are no signs of what to do". I then parked the car and came out to talk to him. I told him that he can't talk to me like that and he just needs to explain that there is a service failure. He then repeated the same sentence and walked off while I was still talking. This incident between him and I lasted about 3 minutes.
Is this how Virgin train trains staff to deal with customers? Or is it just his character and Virgin knows about it already but you are not taking any action despite customers' unpleasant experiences?
This is absolutely appaling and not something I expect from a global company like Virgin. I am on my holiday so I was relaxed, but his actions were enough to get me angry.
