Severn Road Pay and Display Car Park

Undoubtedly one of the most attractive car parks in Cardiff, if not Wales. Worth a journey to behold its magnificence.

Ideal car park for visiting Canton for either shopping or for a meal. Prices are reasonable. The first 2 hours are free then you pay in hourly blocks to stay further. You have to put your registration number in for the free stay under 2hrs and the machine will print out a ticket showing a zero charge. Also if you are disabled and hold a Blue badge you are exempt from paying.

Its convenient for parking, providing you can find a space. Depends very much on time of day.
Bit unnerving at times due to it sometimes being a hang out for people who are alcohol/drug dependant.

Easy access to shops and cafe etc plenty of spaces except school times as taken up by school runs not enough disabled spaces needs more but handy to canton and even town

I have used this car park for many years and from the signs that were there some time ago I know that the first two hours of parking are free. The current signs are very unclear and most are only in Welsh and those on the machines are very old and difficult to read and I regularly see people struggling to understand the conditions of parking which I try to explain if asked also very often one or two of the machines are out of order. It is about time The Council attended to these matters as this car park has been badly neglected except for the regular visits made by their Wardens checking for parking tickets.

Nice little car park. Can get very busy during the day. Free after 6pm which is good. Recommended.

2 hours free is a bonus, but its Canton and nobody wants to pay to park there.
