Do not park here! I have never been to Rhyl before ( won't be going back either) and entered this car park on a very rainy day. I didn't have the £7 cash in coins(who does?) and there were no facilities to pay by card . I tried to ring the number to pay by phone but lo and behold there was no signal. I left the car park after 11 minutes when I realised I couldn't pay. On return from my holiday I received a parking fine for being in the car park for the 11 minutes. My appeal was turned down. The company use an independent appeals service called POPLA as Smart Parking have decided not to participate in the service of the Ombudsman ( I wonder why?). I didn't see any point in appealing again as I don't believe the result would be different. The Tourist Board in Rhyl should be advising all tourists to avoid this car park at all costs.

The council should be ashamed. Tried to pay but the machine was not accepting the coins needed, you would have to overpay for time needed. I paid for the minimum time, but was late by 3 minutes. I got a fine through the post, which I appealed. Heard nothing more from them for weeks, then a debt collectors (fake) letter came, demanding £170. I contacted them 3 times before they responded, they said they had sent a letter telling me my appeal was rejected. I received no such letter. A bit of research online reveals a LOT of people saying they TOO had experienced exactly the same thing. This is bullying and a scam and I am horrified that our council has allowed these cowboys to operate.

It's normally totally full but because of the lockdown there's only about half a dozen cars in there however it has one of those pay machines that you have to put the car number plate in the machine to do this. It is at knee height so it's not very convenient and the numbers on the buttons were worn out so you couldn't see the which was which so if you want to use this car park make sure you arrive in plenty of time to mess about with the Machine.

Get home after Christmas holidays to find a debt letter through my door for a £170 from a time in July I visited to watch a concert. The cash machine would only take so much money at a time not letting you purchase the full amount of time so I bought two tickets. I call the car park and it won’t let you talk to the just via email where you get an automated response hoping to here back in 7days. Absolutely disgusting

Don’t be mislead by “Smart” in the operator’s title. Nothing smart here, only coins accepted. If you routinely drive around with £7 in coins go ahead and park here. But if you go Canolog Central you can pay by app and get the whole day for £3 less than half of this place.

I went in here discovered I couldn’t pay (didn’t have coins) left and now have to contest a parking fine! Smart Piracy pure and simple.

Avoid at all costs - this is a scam and the library should be ashamed.

When your drive in your car will be recognised by ANPR, but the machines don't work. You will then get a letter from a debt recovery company advising you to pay £170 or face court escalation and further costs (up to £235).
