Newton Beach Car Park

Not free - is the only disadvantage. But very convenient for the beach. I park on the street but then I only come here when it's not too busy. A great place to start a walk across the Merthyr Mawr sand dune complex that lies beween Newton and Merthyr Mawr. See if you can find the spring but be careful you don't get lost or fall into any of the disused shooting range buildings.

Lovely dog friendly beach ,the car park could do with a bit of a revamp

Good sized carpark. Grass and some gravel area. Decent costing to park foe the day. Only downside is there is no shade at all so on a sunny day the car will be boiling when you get back to it.
Beach is lovely and it's about 30 minutes to walk into Porthcawl along the coast path or about 5 minutes into the pretty village next to it.

Parking good, but ticket machines take only coins, so if you don't have them no other option than to leave. One of the machines (far end) doesn't see some of the coins which it is supposed to take in, so major pain.

Council could fill the large potholes considering they charge for parking

It's just a beach and ruff car park. No toilets, no cafes. No steps. No disabled access. But it's Great, you could be any where on holiday if the wind is not blowing. I love the sand dunes. You can see for miles.
