Wentwood Forest Picnic Area

Fantastic little picnic area very quite, have BBQ spots to cook hot food and benches to chill and eat. There is a nice walk around the woods and the car park is quite big. It's a bit of a pain to get to and is on a slope. But of your near and need a place to eat it's a very nice spot well kept

A very nice place far away from city noise. Quiet and spacious, perfect for a barbecue with friends or just chill out with a book. You can walk a cat! Shame, that the Wentwood Reservoir is almost drained (the map lies)... Will visit again.

Good sized car park and has picnic tables and BBQ facilities. There are several rubbish bins but sadly people cant be bothered to use them and I picked up several lucozade bottles, coffee cups fish and chip boxes, cans, nappy bags etc etc just left on the floor of the car park. Come on peeps do the right thing and bin your rubbish or better still take it home and recycle/ dispose.

Wentwood is such a beautiful place and this picnic area is especially good for days out. From sightseeing to birthday parties, this picnic area has a big enough and nice area to have a good time out in the forest.

Stopped here for an evening barbeque after a good hike in the forest.

Sad to see one of the BBQs has been damaged/vandalised.

It's a lovely little area with plenty of car parking and picnic benches.

We used the only remaining BBQ and it was great - although the sun disappears behind the trees quite early so it gets chilly at the bottom of the field. We cooked our food and web be and sayy on one of the top benches to eat it which still had sun.

Lovely atmosphere - I can imagine it gets busy in summer. Hopefully they'll fix the other BBQ soon.

Just up the road a bit from the resovior. Good parking spot with picnic and barbecue possibilities. Can walk down towards resovior.

This is a great little spot, one of many in the Westwood forest area. For those who find walking difficult it’s a good spot to come and just put your chairs out and enjoy the view. For those more in need of activity it’s a good place to start out from for the many walks in the area. Parking is normally ok, but then we rarely come on peak occasions. The last time we can here there was an awful amount of rubbish, sleeping bags, cans, bottles etc. we spent a good time clearing it all up so hopefully that’s not a regular things.

Beautiful place to explore. There's a great cafe and lovely trails through the woods. Definitely recommend for a wander or an explore. The parking was fine and was free.
