Call to discuss my passport application. Tells me average wait time is 5 mins - fine. But then it rings once and then tells me that actually they can’t possibly get to my call, goodbye.
So I call back, this time the “approximate average” wait time is 10 mins. Again - fine. But it rings once and tells me again that they cannot get to my call and to call back.
Unacceptable. If I want to wait on the phone - let me!

I have been calling hm passport office for the last month now and no one has picked up the phone. I had them received a letter to confirm something to the hm passport office yet no one has been picking up the phone. This is ridiculous as it has caused a huge delay and has left me uncertain about what’s going on!!!

Terrible , so unprofessional it's unreal, all you get when you call no matter what time of day it is , is a silly posh lady voicemail saying there experiencing a high volume of calls..which is a lie the phone line is off and that voicemail is what you get , must of sent 6 emails and still no response which is delaying my passport!!

Been trying to get a passport since January, don't bother trying because they will ask you to call a number for a appointment that literally doesn't answer when called over 200 times in a row.
Waste of time and money, HMRC are well aware of the issues and have been for over a year and do nothing to rectify their pathetic phone lines.
At this point I'd have more luck getting struck by lightning than getting through to them.
Absolutely pathetic.

Shocking service. the interview booking line does not work it just says email them and still no reply 347 calls and 68 emails andd2 weeks and still nothing and the main passport office cant/wont help. portsmouth you should be ashamed.
