Pets at Home Richmond

A 1st class experience every time. A great groom, great staff and most importantly, Quincy GSD enjoys his visits. Highly recommended.

We were shopping for our new puppy yesterday and were helped by Charlie in Pets at Home Richmond. WOW is all I can say, he was so, so helpful and friendly. I would 100% recommend anyone looking to buy pets supplies to come here, fantastic customer service, 10/10, thanks Charlie :)

Liked it due to huge variety on all sortd of animal related things you may need for your pet, may it be tiny, huge, cat, dog, bird, fish, everything. The service on the tills was good but the service bu the aisles lacks personnel. Also, when I was there all of them were at their break at the same time, which made difficult to ask questions etc. Some customers already started to conplain but the staff was friendly. I would still go ahead and shop for pretty much everything pet related but knowing the support may be lacking again, I would create my knowledge prior to visiting to buy what I needed. All in all OK experience.

The guy groomer with glasses was a complete as* to me, did not do what he was asked to do (shave the belly, shape the paws) left the belly untouched, the paws shaved…
First when asked if the dog behaved
He said oh yes very good, when asked about why did he shave the paws? He changed his answer to
“Oh this is such a difficult dog!”
Horrible job, customer service, his attitude.
Have two other dogs that go for a regular grooming so I know how it’s supposed to look.

Before the major heatwave, (Wednesday the 13th of July) I placed an order for a new water bottle for my hamster as his old bottle broke and he is realy struggling to drink from a bowl, as well as other supplies to change his cage over to make him comortable for the heatwave.

The order was meant to come Saturday (16th) but I heard nothing... no emails or anything to notify me that the order delivery date has suddenly changed for Monday (18th) the first of the 2 hellish days.

On Monday... nothing! I had to wait to get home to see if it had been delivered but by that time all their contact options had been shut. Tuesday I used the chat service only to be told that my order number was for click & collect (it was not) as I had seen the delivery cost had been there & had everything on my confirmation email to prove the contrary. A few mins later the person I spoke to appologised and said it was indeed a delivery order but that he had to reorder it then and there... furthermore one of my items had sold out in the meantime!

I got next day delivery but what was the point now as the 2 torrid days had passed and my hamster spent them in a cage which should've been fresh & struggling of heat stress as he can barely drink from a bowl. I had to resort to putting lots of frozen bottles in his cage to keep him cool as he couldn't hidrate properly.

Compensation still wouldn't have rectified the situation, however I still wasn't offered anything. This is the second time in a row they messed up my online order, so no thank you Pets At Home I will never be using you again!

This is an excellent store. Staff are all wonderful and very helpful.
We have a mini Zoo at home, new family members are ball python and a corn snake not brought from this store, but happy to help us learn and advise on the care needed... I love this store, I know the staff so makes it easy to talk and ask advise from them in a friendly warm conversation. It's hard to sometimes ask for help as sometimes it's silly pet owner moments; but feel so relaxed with the staff here... A big thank you to them ALL

We went here to shop for our first kitty. They have a great selection for cats, dogs and other kinds of small animals here. The staff was super friendly and attentive.

Always well stocked, friendly staff. You would expect a pet store to have pet friendly staff but these guys excel. We took our daughters BC in at the weekend for some treats and the staff made a fuss of her and gave her some treats.
