East Street Pharmacy

This pharmacy has been incredibly difficult for a while now and I have waited to see if it would improve to no avail. The staff are very rude and snappy which makes for an unpleasant experience- they have refused to issue my medication before despite them holding my prescription in my hand.

They rarely ever have medication in stock- this is basic medication and they repeatedly tell me to come back. Despite having a huge amount of staff in the room, the service is so slow and they have often forgotten about customers waiting. Overall, I find this pharmacy repeatedly disappointing and frustrating, and I don't blame people for getting upset, as I also come away annoyed.

If I could rate this Pharmacy 0 stars I would! Just had my first trip to this pharmacy and I am shocked at the awful service I received there. When I went, there was no queue and just one lady sat waiting for her prescription. I stood at the counter for 25 minutes waiting to be served. There were 3 staff working, they saw me waiting but did not not even acknowledge I was there. The lady waiting was telling me how much this Pharmacy has gone down hill. Eventually I was served but there was no apology for the long wait. The lady was very abrupt and when I asked for 2 over the counter medications, she couldn't find the first one, I had to point it out on the shelf. The second item she didn't know what it was, I had to spell it out and again show her where it was. I paid and left. When I got halfway home my daughter said "do you know this is out of date?" I ended up having to turn around and go back to the Pharmacy. The item was 6 months out of date! When I got there there were 2 people in front of me. It took me over 45 minutes to be served. I asked the grumpy lady if they checked the expiry dates very often? She glared at me and gave no reply. I said you have just sold me medication 6 months out of date. There was unsuprisingly no apology!!!! She just took the item, picked up the last one on the shelf and said "Oh that is out of date too. If you can wait while I serve this lady as I need to give you a refund!" I waited patiently but then she didn't know how to do a refund! A colleague came to help her and when I asked for my original receipts back they had kept them and put them in the til!! No apology for selling me out of date medication or for the fact that I had had to go back, they just shrugged their shoulders, showing they clearly didn't care!! Customer Service was non- existent there were no please's, thank you's or sorry's. Suffice to say this was an awful experience and I will not return! The only good thing to say is that it is open on a Sunday. PLEASE CHECK THE EXPIRY DATES ON YOUR MEDICATION IF YOU USE THIS PHARMACY and I hope you get better service than I did! Looking at other reviews, I very much doubt it!

I am a patient registered with the adjacent nursery, but never took the time to pop in to get my medications from East Street Pharmacy. I usually get my prescriptions transmitted electronically to the Pharmacy nearest to my work in the City. This time, I was looking to get a specific medication to treat a very persistent in-ear infection, had visited 4 pharmacies before trying east street. There was no queues as I visited at midday on a Friday and the lady got my ear-drops straight away, double checked with a colleague how much and how often I needed to take the drops and it was all over! Thank you East Street Pharmacy!

Would give less stars if I could. Only once in 8 months has my prescription been right or ready and now I need to phone them and no one ever answering the phone. Beyond useless and not worthy of your time and effort.

Used to be a great little pharmacy when it first opened, but in the last few years and a couple of new owners it's by far the worst pharmacy in Tonbridge, if not Kent. Never any stock, long waits, zero customer service. It's just a money machine for the current owners now.

Like a lot of others I’ve noticed a decline in service. It used to be a great friendly late night chemist but it seems to have gone downhill. I’m sure the staff work hard but over 30 mins for 1 item is poor ? Since writing my original review East street pharmacy has gone from 1 star to 4 stars. Still busy but staff do their best

Please be wary if you have to go to east Street pharmacy on the run up to christmas. It's just taken us an hour to grab some of the items and we've now got to go back as they didn't have them all. Some staff are incredibly rude and snappy, and not at all helpful or empathetic. Staff are also not wearing masks properly despite their sign outside and they have no lateral flow tests to collect. If you can, just go elsewhere.

My second month now of getting my prescription medication from this pharmacy, after leaving another due to horrific service.
Both times they had to make up my large prescription on request, and both times was well under 10mins of waiting. This was also a very busy period too.
So thank you very very much for your hard work and non-stop commitment when things are very difficult at the moment. I really appreciated it 😊
