I was please to see that they have put in place the obligatory face masks and perspex screens to keep us all safe at this time.
I really like that the staff are friendly and kind. Its nice to have this rapport in our community. Well done Care Chemist and Thank you.
I have been going to Care Chemist for many years and it truly is the best out there.
Not only do they have such a large variety of stock but its their fantastic staff which sets them apart.
They always go above and beyond to make sure you get the care that you need.
And a special shout out to Justine who is the most friendly and caring person - a real credit to the chemist
I walked into this chemist in bad pain needing some Nurofen, earlier this morning. I was wearing a face mask below my nose, due to a health issue. I was then accosted by a very 'opinionated' staff member asking me to pull the mask over my nose.
Feeling awkward from this comment, and not liking the need to prove myself exempt (which I am), I still showed her my Freedom Pass, stating I was exempt, however still wearing it out of principle and concern for others.
Her retort was simple - "If you gonna wear it, wear it over your nose."
I could have taken the mask off at that point, if I was going to be contentious, and carried on using their services.
I quickly decided against this and made my way to leave the shop (I am refraining from calling them real chemists) saying - 'It's fine. Don't worry'.
I then heard the same woman shout over to the counter "Don't worry, then".
Thinking this was pointed at me, I said "I won't", as I left the shop.
The audacity of the response was incredible - "I wasn't talking to you!".
In effect, a chemist 'shop' so irresponsible, degrading and lacking in their understanding of those with health conditions needs to be shown for what they truly are, to the general public.
As a local journalist, I am curious to know if others here feel they have been mistreated by Care Chemists in this way? Just deciding whether I should take this further with the local MP (with whom I have a good working relationship) to reconsider their chemist licence?
