In February 2019 British Gas found a safety issue with my old Baxi boiler at the annual landlord inspection and immediately turned it off. My Baxi contract support took 3 days to come, then declared boiler obsolete (13 years old) and said they could arrange a quote a week later. I visited Columbus, they came same day, I had a quote the next day for a full replacement, changing to Bosch and with a hot water tank. Installed and working within days. Fantastic work. Great company. Highly recommended.

This company are generally good but on this occasion I feel let down. They fitted a bathroom and a boiler in my house in Yoxford. Sadly a basin tap was fitted with the incorrect part. It worked and we left it as was, but it wasn’t right. It gradually seized up due to limescale and I am now selling my house and wanted to make it good for new owners, I rang Columbus because I had been happy with their work in the past. I most certainly did not expect the job doing for free but I certainly did not expect a bill of £98.14, including a call out fee of £67 plus vat for an engineer to be on site for 10 minutes and most of that time finishing a cup of coffee. I wasn’t advised of the call out fee. If I had been, I would have got alternative quotes or maybe had the engineer look at another minor job while they were on site. I have queried the invoice and given them the opportunity to discuss it with me. I have on the one hand been told they do not routinely quote a call out fee (given what it is I’m not surprised!) and in the latest email been told by the Office Manager that, I quote ‘you wanted to double check what our prices are, you should have asked at the time of booking’. So sadly, I have just settled the invoice and left this review. This could all have been avoided if they had considered a long term relationship with customers, advised up front of call out charges or taken in to account a job completed incorrectly in the first place and reduced their call out fee slightly when I gave them the opportunity to. I will shortly be obtaining quotes for more plumbing and bathroom work and I’ll go where my business is more valued.

Impressed with this business from start to finish. Took time to discuss heating and hot water difficulties prior to quote. Examined the site and worked out best solution with minimum disruption.
Installation, enlarging cupboard and re-positioning of existing sink all included in price. Professional and courteous installation team. Cost will within budget and lower than others. Highly recommend.

A few days before Christmas our boiler stopped working. After contacting several companies I was told no one could take a look until after Christmas, leaving us with no hot water or heating (not ideal with two young children!). Columbus however visited the next day. The problem was quickly identified and the new part ordered. Customer service was excellent & they were able to fit us in again the next day once the part arrived so it could be fitted. The boiler was quickly repaired and we were able to have hot water & heating again in time for Christmas!!
The two repair men that visited were polite, friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable. The main office delivered fantastic customer service.
Highly recommend Columbus and will not use anyone else now!!

Columbus fitted our superb Worcester Bosch boiler three or four years ago. Works like a dream. Ben visits every year to service, to maintain our ten yr warranty and always does an excellent just b.n. Also, Ben did a lovely job fitting our new bathroom radiator this summer, at a very competitive price. Would highly recommend.

We live in a grade II listed 16c farmhouse and had a mess of a heating system. The Columbus team came and gave us options and we agreed a competitive quote on a boiler replacement to an external unit along with removal of all the water tanks in our sons bedroom. It a pleasure to be able to write an extremely positive review. We were kept informed of progress and when issues arose (as they will in a build this age) Jon, Chris and the team overcame them without delaying the installation..
