Accrington Post Office

I agree with the comments on here regarding the staff - rude and incompetent only start to cover it. It's as if they go out of their way to ensure your visit to this PO takes twice as long as is necessary. Every visit is unpleasant and I only use this when there are no other postal alternatives - which is rare, thankfully. To think that there are probably some great rural branches being closed while this shambles is allowed to continue to operate poorly with impunity.

Never a great experience using this post office - I only go if I absolutely have to. Like many others have said, the staff (with the exception of the white-haired chap, he's friendly) come across as very miserable and act like they just don't want to be there, it really doesn't make for a pleasant visit. Much better to use the post office on Avenue Parade, the staff there are quick, efficient and helpful.

Unusual, as this branch is one of an ever decreasing number of Post Offices which are NOT inside another shop, like WHSmith. It offers the usual Post Office amenities & is also a PayPoint facility. The staff are good natured & efficient.

I use this Post office on a regular basis.
The staff go the extra mile and deliver excellent customer service, they are professional, courteous and helpful to their customers.
The premises are kept clean and tidy.

Just went to buy a book of stamps. I gave the man £20 and he gave me change for £10. When I told him, he didn't look pleased and said 'You sure?'
Gave me my change, no apology or anything. Quite rude!!

Staff behaviour is very friendly

I read the reviews on line and they weren't good, so I went in to Blackburn ainsworth st the booth there to take photos for a driving licence in an official form wasn't working, I was told it wasn't going to be fixed. I asked where I could go and they said mill Mill hill post office and she said they shut at 2pm. Travelled 15 mins to get there and they were closed , they shut at 12:30. So I had no option but to travel to another 20 mins to Accrington, the staff were extremely helpful helped me with my application but I had to use the standard photo booth. They did all the work , I can't recommend them enough. Thank you

Terrible place. Took a pre paid parcel down, queued for a while, when I handed it over one of the guys attempted to scan the bar code and he said it doesn't work. I asked in what way does it it not work and he said the scanner is saying the bar code isn't recognised and gave it me back. He said I needed to take it up with customer services online. As I left the post office there was a postman standing outside and he said to me 'don't tell me, it hasn't scanned? They're really grumpy in there if you take a pre paid parcel to be posted they don't get any money from it, take it to the sorting office they'll do it.' So popped around the corner to the sorting office and the guy behind the counter agreed and said they're terrible in the post office, they're always doing it. What annoys me the most was the two guys behind the counter were going to let me go home, spend god knows how long contacting customer services for something that wasn't wrong!!! It was an ebay return and if I hadn't posted it that day Id have lost out on £37.99 due to them being grumpy. I used to use them a lot, now I go to the one up Avenue Parade or the one in Baxenden.

Just noticed the Post Office owner has thanked someone for a 5 star review, shame they don't acknowledge the negative comments.
