North Weald Post Office

The worst Post Office I have ever used. They now have new opening times which are even more reduced than the previous unhelpful opening times. The staff (especially the older lady... who smokes cigarettes inside the shop... is the rudest person I have ever met), are at best unhelpful and at worst ignorant and patronising. They are not interested in running the business and I am fairly sure they won’t be running it for much longer. Surely when “The Post Office” realise what is happening at North Weald Post Office they will take some action. We used to have such a lovely Post Master but times have changed for the (much) worse! The local Coop sells stamps. Go there instead.

Apart from the ever shrinking opening times - I have to make a comment on the contrasting service I have received at this post office over the last year. The old woman is quite simply a misery. She is rude and can be quite blunt at times. The man in contrast, is very helpful and always has a smile on his face. I do not understand, if your not happy in a job, leave. However they have both dealt with my parcels professionally and none have gone astray. So that has to count for something, I guess.

The laziest and worst run post office I’ve ever come across. The elder lady is dismissive, rude and I’m pretty sure has an IQ disorder. She disputes the opening times, which are stated on the official Royal Mail website. My poor pregnant wife has had to walk again and again due to misleading opening times. They only accept cash sometimes, which is just ridiculous when we’re living in 2019. It’s disgraceful that the post office is run by an incompetent pair of people. I hope the Royal Mail realises this and changed their venue!

Should have updated opening times online not just a handwritten notice in the shop for when you get there.
Apart from the above I’ve never had any problems and have found the service polite and competent.

Absolutely appalling. Today 29/12/20 I spent nearly 30 min with my baby in the freezing cold weather outside. And the lady behind the counter saw me standing all that time with the baby in my arms and didn’t let in to wait. Sadly, the post office lady was rude and very unhelpful.
It took a while to heat my baby’s feet and arms when we got home.
In which world do we live???

I have always had good, helpful service at this post office. I am aware of some health problems within the family which has led to the reduced hours. Please give them another chance.

We have used the Post Office in North Weald for our business for several years. More recently, with the new management using their Drop & Go service for our parcels. They are very helpful, professional and polite. We would highly recommend the whole team, they are a pleasure to deal with!
