Southdown Road Post Office

Sue & Lynn are absolutely lovely ladies! Always helping with a smile. They make our daily visits very enjoyable :-)

Now - due to complaints by a sad individual the nearby Post Box has been removed! They need to get out more!

2019 - More convenient than the branch in the High Street with plenty of free parking behind the Co-op.

Not all services are available such as passport applications and tax.

Note: if you are posting something it is best to go earlier as the last collection tends to come early! Hence a star deducted as has bitten me twice!

Would recommend a waiting room ! With a TV or somthing. If you are coming here recommend a fully charged iPad with a film on it and a camping stool.

It would be quicker to walk to town, get on the train to St Albans and walk in to town there and post a parcel than waiting here. I recommend that if your letter is going anywhere under 50 miles away then just take it, you’ll still be home earlier.

Very handy post office, but take the opening hours posted on the Post Office website and Google with a pinch of salt - they are hugely inaccurate. This post office is located within the Co-Op Supermarket, and the opening hours posted are theirs, not the ones of the post office. I'm genuinely unsure why they will not correct the opening hours, as it would stop them wasting people's time, making unnecessary journeys.
