Penge Post Office

The staff are friendly but very very slow. You have to wait for what seems forever to get served as sometimes there is only one person on. The shop itself has 4 different shops in it one hair dressers a mobile shop and a cyber cafe as well as the post office, so I very unclean and untidy.

Posted some items last Friday, 4thOct 1st class signed, online it says it should get there 1-3 days, it didn't arrive so I went back (tracking online said it was still at Penge Post office) the guy behind the counter said I should give it 3-5 days and if it doesn't arrive, wait 6 weeks to make a complaint! Not very helpful at all, even when I showed the tracking number, he barely looked at it. Never using this post office again. Steer clear if you can help it.

No respect for parcels, he slings them across room into sacks even after putting fragile all over them.Twice this has happened & broken once reached destination. No way of proving it’s got damaged before it’s even left the post office but most likely, even after saying to him “it’s fragile”his arrogant response was “well it’s got to go through about 20 process like that” also Royal Mail wouldn’t refund me.

I sent an important letter with special delivery for 9am next day. It arrived at 11.30am. Apparently PO only guarantees delivery by 11am. However, they still call it special delivery for 9am and the gentlemen at the Penge Post office who would have obviously know that chose not to tell me this either. I also could not track the letter nor can I get a refund because the receipt he gave me did not have a tracking number. I paid £20.24 for this excellent service. What should I call this if not either a scam or complete incompetence.

Only 2 members of staff so if one is on lunch then the wait can be longer than necessary. The male staff member doesn't listen to your requests so I have to repeat what I want as they will try to up-sell you. The amount of times I've seen other customers be quoted an Express letter service for something like £12 and their reaction is priceless, as they only want a 2nd class stamp!

The shop around the counters is worse than a boot sale! The amount of damaged/dirty/old items they're desperately trying to sell to keep open is depressing. Shame on Royal Mail for forcing post offices to have a shop if they want to stay open, and for their forceful up-selling approach!

Really great wonderful people. They have been there for as long as I know. Easy and quick to send something

They always work relentlessly hard and are always nice to me when I go in for business even when I can tell they are stressed they are always proffesional and efficient proper old school traditional post l office people

Now Rodeos opened 3 months ago....Nachos good and burgers....Milkshakes Peri Peri chicken and chips wings....Sloppy Joe's chilli hot and selection of hot sauce.
