St Mary Cray Post Office

When I arrived in the middle of the working hours (13:10) I was told the post office is shut and would remain shut for 20 minutes longer due to the till being closed/counted. There is no information about this closure on the website and it seems to be a regular occurrence. A queue built up within the shop with few people wearing face masks or being able to abide by any social distancing due to the crowded nature of the shop. It's ridiculous that the Post Office is shut in the middle of the day with no warning on the website!

I am really disappointed in the service here since the new owners have taken over. I have gone to use the post office several times and it’s never open/ always seems to have an issue with the till. I specifically called up one morning to see if there was a queue and to check it was open, I was told it was by the women, drove down 5 minutes later before work to then be told by the same women there was a glitch with all post office systems, when I said why did you not think to tell me this on the phone, the women asked me to wait and got a man from out the back who just told me there was an issue with the system. Complete waste of my time. No one ever wears masks in that shop.

Also went in today and was told the postmaster had went home so no one could get my parcel that had been delivered, they also stated that he would not be in the next day (Saturday) even thought the website clearly states they should be open from 9-1. My mum lives across the road and frequently has the same issues. I will now be getting my parcels delivered elsewhere and sending them from another branch.

I would issue zero stars if I could, I have only given one star because I have never had an issue when I buy store products, the staff are always friendly. But the post office is section horrid. I went today to collect a payout with the correct ID. The transaction required proof of identity not proof of address when I handed my driving license the cashier presented me with a problem because of my address. Had she read the letter properly she would of realised the address was irrelevant and the ID was sufficient I found an alternative post office with lovely atmosphere and staff and had my payout without any issues. I will not use this post office or store ever again. TERRIBLE.ive been in customer service for 16 years and I am able to identify when a service provider is deliberately trying to avoid completing a transaction, this could also be due to her being biased.

Worst experience I’ve ever had first time I went there I got excused of stealing which was not a good first impression then next time they tried to over charge me then the 3rd time I went I asked a question and instead of doing what I requested she decided to argue with me and not even check and when she saw me getting annoyed then she decided to check but from my experience from this post office DO NOT GO THERE THEY ARE RUDE AND WILL TRY AND OVER CHARGE YOU ANY CHANCE THEY GET THEY ARE SWINDLES

Post office closed in middle of day. Rude and couldn’t care less attitude. Used to be friendly and even let me take my dog in to use PO (small, carried)

Such a shame a well run post office for years has been let down by the new owners.
I run my own business and being local it’s always been a great convenience but since the new owners I’ve had to go elsewhere to post my daily parcels.
Whenever I have gone in their my parcels get snatched out of my hands, receipts practically thrown at you, almost like your an inconvenience like others have mentioned.
I always leave the shop with a complex, absolutely hate it and it’s got the most uncomfortable atmosphere..
I really hope new owners take over soon and run things properly.

I walked to the post office in opening hrs to be told the staff was going for his break by the other staff member as he walked off in front of me, didn't even have the manners to say it himself! I don't expect to have my time wasted by the post office. I now have to return on a later date.... very boring for the customers /others waiting.

So poor it verges on comical. Tried to collect a parcel but the post office was closed in the middle of the day. After waiting 15 minutes I phoned the supplier and asked them to refund the order. The refund was far quicker than trying to collect the parcel from these rude and unhelpful individuals. Avoid at all costs.
