Orpington Post Office

Worst post office in the world!!
Don't go here for driving licence renewal they don't do it.
even know the website says they do on both the post office Web site and dvla. Useless better of closing this branch down and opening a proper one somewhere else. You have been warned ⚠️

Post Office website says they close at 5:30 on Saturdays but upon arrival I was told they close at 1:30 due to to having no staff. Staffing appears to be an ongoing issue at this branch which is never resolved.

Arrived 11am in the morning, being told WH Smith and PO closed due to a leak. OK, I can accept that. Rang up later to be told they are open. Arrived in the afternoon.... Closed. Wendy back the next day,only to be told closed due to a leak.

What is this. I need an urgent parcel collected.

Not trustworthy at all with opening hours. Walked 20 mins there today with heavy parcels, and to find there's signs outside saying temporarily closed?! Says it's open still on Google. Waste of time

Sign didn't even give guidance on where nearest alternative post office was, or who to contact if you have questions.

Lack of staff, even before the strikes.
Five counters and only one member of staff manning them despite the queues going out into the whsmiths center aisle..

Honestly, Christmas is coming, long queue and only one person serving. Disgraceful! Don't bother unless you enjoy standing in a queue forever! The worst PO I've ever been to.

We need a larger post office in Orpington with more staff at the desks. There is always a long queue and I feel sorry for the staff who have to cope with it, they are always very polite and helpful but I feel they work under too much pressure. The queues are at melting point and one day I actually fainted as it is very hot in there, no air conditioning. Sometimes there is a lot of anger in the queues.

Yes, Orpington Post Office is hands down the worst post office I have come across 13 years in this country. I dread visiting this place at the best of times BUT.

There is a lady who when I see her manning the counters gives me hope that yes I have to wait in a queue for 30 mins minimum but if she serves me my work will be done. Her name (if I recollect correctly) is Val and she’s bespectacled. One-man army this lady is. Got my provisional licence and daughter’s British passport sorted through her.

100% agree with all the reviews here regarding the post office in general.
