Awful service. Went today to collect a parcel for a lady who I support and even though I had the post office card and a letter with her name and address on, I was told that this was not acceptable. Apparently a driving license, passport or bus pass are all acceptable - great if you have any of these but she doesn't. I had to go and collect her bank card (leaving her and myself vulnerable). It's common sense gone mad and so annoying as discretion could have been used in this case!! Not impressed at all!!

Royal Mail Sorting office has improved a lot since privatisation, the staff are more attentive, there's longer opening hours, and staff at the loading bay at the back are always more than happy to accept mail for someday dispatch if the front counter is closed and you have missed the 5pm post office deadlines. I have frequently taken sacks of mail (and individual items) to the loading bay area from 6pm-6:40pm on weekdays, and 1pm-1:30pm on Saturdays and it's always gone the same day.

For business customers like myself who also need mailing sacks, Royal Mail employees at the loading bay area are happy for you to help yourself to as many sacks as you like, so you can never run out, as deliveries of sacks for OBA online business customers can be problematic.

Opening hours are just not adequate. Open for 2 hours on a Monday? Lazy buggers.
The number of people turning up at 10:30am reasonably expecting it to be open is clearly a sign they need to offer a better service.

Awful post office at Redditch, turned up at 9:15am and it was closed, website and notice on the door say they close at 10am, this has happened a few times here, very frustrating!

My parcel sat for 5 days in sorting office. Supposed to be 48hr delivery. Kept checking tracking. Eventually contacted seller to chase up. Then tracking said attempted delivery. No card was left and I was home. Next morning 7am checked again expecting it to say out for delivery but this time said recipient refused delivery, return to sender. Liar's, I have camera's on my property never attempted delivery plus I was home on both days. I then visited sorting office as soon as it opened, there being told that the delivery address was wrong on parcel but they had marked it out so I couldn't see if they were correct or not. Contacted seller they said address was correct and confirmed it by reading out the complete address. Had to get refund and reorder my purchase because royal mail refused to give me package saying the seller was their customer not me and there was nothing they could do. Soo frustrating.

Arrived 1.20pm on Monday to collect an undelivered package. Closed. Open 8am to 10am. Three other people arrived at the same time as me. No service at all from an organisation that is no longer fit for purpose!

Common theme of 1star reviews can only agree with these reviews. Especially from "Chris" on the customer desk....zero common sense and unhelpful.

Excellent staff who get every possible effort to sort you out. Have been collecting my parcels for many years and always found them helpful. They accept drop off parcel as well with proof of postage.
Been there this morning and again was sorted out immediately. I wish I knew that chap's name to mention here.
