I was turned away because my parcels were not profitable for this Post Office. The man said which types of services he wanted to provide and this was not one of them. I have visited this post office for many years for a range of services (I'm sure some profitable), but this one incident will now mean I wouldn't feel able to go again. I was with my young son and he was distressed on leaving the post office about what had happened and didn't understand why a man would behave in this way. I know that Post Offices are struggling but incidents like this are not going to help keep a customer base. At a time when the world is at is it, kindness and community go a long way and I saw neither today at Cobham Post Office.

Rude owner insisting you should not come to this place if label is purchased somewhere else. Post Office has its own rules which you are obliged to follow and if you do not like it then give up franchise!

Politely?! Nice joke. When I come to sort out mail, I do not need to hear from your college moaning about his income. It is not my problem!

Popped in today to renew a passport. Ive got nothing but praise for the two gents who run this place. Friendly, professional, kind, efficient and helpful. It's amazing to find people who genuinely are passionate and care for what they do.

Postmaster, top man Phil, if you're reading this: thank you very much.

Friendly, helpful, efficient, patient, kind and courteous. Can't thank Phil and Chinny enough for their fantastic customer service when applying to renew my driving licence.

I’m one of the vast majority who appreciate our brilliant post office and all the staff. On many occasions I’ve been helped out. I send parcels and often print pre paid label and never have they complained about taking in the parcel for a printed proof of postage. I’ve also returned all different sized parcels that are returns for Amazon and again never a problem. We use the check and send for our passports and I try and use them whenever I need stamps envelopes packing materials. We have lost so many services in our high street. Banking is a joke! I now use the post office if I need to pay in cash. Yes you queue sometimes but that’s expected. The service during lockdown spoke volumes for how committed they all are. I’ve seen the rude people and apologised when I’ve got to the desk because nobody should be shouted at when you’re just doing your job

I am surprised to read the comments of some users. My own experience is that the postmaster is extremely helpful and proactive and always very friendly. I go out of my way to use this post office for both business and personal use because of this. An important asset to our village. My own reason for 4 and not 5 stars is because I often have to queue .. but to be fair there isn’t an awful lot the postmaster can do about this I guess other than open another counter but that’s an added cost and space is a premium as it’s a fairly small office ... I may just visit at the wrong times... keep up the good work, most of us in cobham value and appreciate you 👍

The geezer in here is always moaning about pre-paid postage, saying they don’t accept it? It’s a post office, not sure what else they’re suppose to be accepting but clearly not post and parcels. Proper head scratcher. It’s literally just the one guy seems to have a problem with me or something as the other employee accepts without any issues. Think they need to re-evaluate who they employ, because working for a post office and refusing/moaning about pre-paid post isn’t great customer service and doesn’t make much sense. Guy needs to have a word with himself.

Having written about this business before, I am somewhat disappointed with their response, some six months later.

One could ask why it has taken them six months to respond, but let’s park that up for now, and look at the content of their response.

Maybe their A4 hard back envelopes at £1.49 are slightly better than those costing £0.69 at another shop in the village ... BUT ... these same envelopes are also available in packs on eBay which work out at £0.25 each.

When you are using envelopes for a business you don’t need a “Rolls-Royce” of a product, and, having purchased a number of consignments of the £0.25 each envelopes from eBay, and had no complaints from the recipients, I shall continue to do so.

I can’t dispute the fact that this post office has helped, by taping up a parcel which I have already done, such that it becomes different dimensionally and therefore fits into a different, and cheaper, category, but wouldn’t one expect that from them as a business anyway? There are so many different means of parcel costs being established these days.

Regarding my visit to their premises yesterday, I have, on numerous previous occasions, had people say to me that they wished everybody would write as neatly as myself.

The parcel concerned was a business one, to a relatively new recipient whose post code I was not 100% sure of in my mind. I had the details in my phone but the WiFi in their premises is “hit and miss” and I couldn’t access the details at the time, hence my comment. Seeing as I print everything in block capitals anyway, I fail to see how a U can look like a W, but hey-ho.

Hopefully that has cleared all of that up, and, as for my only writing about shoddy businesses, isn’t that my prerogative? I feel it is more important to let people know of poor businesses, but again, that’s my opinion.

What I do detect is a business who took six months to respond to an original posting, only did do because they felt harshly done by themselves, and quickly turned my original comments into something else.
