Bad customer service. Firstly, The man running the place seems to be very impolite and disrespectful to customers. I have no car and both post offices close to my area have shutdown. So I had no choice but to use this post office. As you enter the place you start getting unfriendly vibes instantly. While waiting in the queue I noticed a customer before me treated impolitely. As I got closer to the window, I found the man running the place being condescending to a new member of staff who looked pretty nervous. On my turn he didn’t give me give me proof of postage for my item which resulted in my package being lost and I got no compensation (when I visited next time for same service the man suggested that I could have printed my own proof of postage online) This was a bad service again as if I lost a parcel I will never get compensation as there wouldn’t be any stamp by post office. After getting an unsetisfactory service, I spotted several notes Throughout the post office in poor English. “Please don’t let your children touch the fan’s!!!!”. One cheeky customer wrote under one of note. “Please don’t touch fan’s what!!!!

I had a very upsetting experience. I went to sort out some car documents. The man behind the counter told me that I had been made a fool of by the people who had sold car. He made several comments telling me that he didn't want my business and that there was no point in complaining as it wouldn't make any difference. He then told me that he no longer wanted my business and that I should leave. I said that I he was be very unhelpful and he said that I obviously have not experienced anyone rude before. He was very condescending towards me. I asked for his name and he refused to give to me. Unbelievably poor and rude customer service, which isn’t necessary. I then went to Henleaze post office who were very helpful. office who were very helpful.

I was concerned when I heard that the Post office had closed and moved into a convenience store (Costcutter on Canford Lane), but I have been very pleasantly surprised. Visiting at the busiest time of the year I was bracing myself for a long and miserable wait. I was wrong. There was a queue but it was being expertly managed. It disappeared quickly and the service was excellent. Well done to whoever now manages this and thank you.

NOT open until 5:30pm, only until around 1 on weekends and 2pm on Weekdays. Made the two hour trip by foot here twice only to find it closed despite the information on here saying otherwise, and in one case this led to the contents of the parcel expiring before I would be able to send them. I know this probably isn't something they can do much about, but they could at least update the online information.

GOOGLE pls make clear ! Change and move cut off time pls : Reviews of lower stars!, pre Dec 2020 are for the old main Post Office, not this new Westbury-on-Trym Post Office within Premier Stores, formerly Costcutter : Please note that there are a mix of Reviews here and some refer to folk who have gone to the old major Post Office building, now closed. And one or two newer ones regards the new site, since only end of 2020 last year, 6 months or so back, housed here in Costcutter Stores.

In answer to review Tracey Mizon : I don't believe the service is very slow normally and it's only fair to reserve such judgement to a new business runner until one has visited lots of times as the business they get used to.
I have not found them slow of any note more than others who run such unless one happens upon very experienced post office senior staff. We all must have time to pick up speed at new work lines.
I think one needs to not think everything in life needs be instant and one can do other things while one waits and more so these days as one takes one's i- phone or android device with one in the days.??

The Post Office facilities have had to be moved, as we believe to be so, in the community here, being not sustainable as such a large facility in the large old P.O. building ... and they have been taken on in the Canford News Costcutter 'corner' local store here, & in a very good way, I reckon. And many others agree I know: very good !!, so far, I believe.
At the end of the rank of shops, Canford Lane, no. 27, towards the Park down past CoOp and the Great Western Ambulance to, all but the last premises in the rank there, last but one.

Being run now by the good long term locals here, caring Indian family, seeking to be giving a good and kind service .(....though also with a bit of the good patience we all need in stressed days! ).
I, as many others here, I know !, are very satisfied with the early days service that is being provided and think it to be very good so far and: 5 stars.

One can do almost all Post Office transactions one needs here, as I understand!??: But maybe you can check out on that one.

One can also catch up on odd items or more of grocery one needs as one calls for Post Office needs: their corner store goods.
The family who runs it are caring and seeking to be a fully helpful service for all, I believe, am sure.
They are also, I know, always open to ideas of what you might like stocked to buy regularly there from them, in terms of stationery, or other grocery etc goods for them to sell in their wider store there.

Very good!!, in summary, I believe, - and hope you find so too.

I went to return a parcel today (on a Saturday) and I was told they didn’t want it as it was a large box?

They said it wouldn’t be collected till Monday and “could I come back”

I work full time Monday to Friday, so Saturday is the day to do these sort of jobs etc they told me to go to another post office!!?!!

Nice shop, useless post office.

I found the staff to be friendly and knowledgable and this place has great opening hours. So much better than the old post office that closed down.

The Canford News post office opened on December 7 2020 (according to The Henleaze and Westbury Voice) so check the dates on previous reviews as many are for the old post office.

Visited the post office within the convenience store today, one counter position, very slow service, bags of mail dotted around the store, surely this isn’t secure? Only positive the member of staff was very friendly and I was able to do what I needed to do!
