Standlake Post Office

Most unhelpful post master ever. Refused to give me ‘proof of posting’ which is every customers right in any post office in the country when you hand over a letter or parcel. Instead I was told “why didn’t you pay me rather than buying the royal mail per paid label online?” to which I replied “because I sold something on eBay and it’s more convenient for me to print the postage label at home”. His reply “well you can take it somewhere else” an absolute disgrace. Wr desperately need this local post office but such a pity it can’t be run by someone that views the ability to serve the local community as an honour rather than a burden...

Had a recent stay at the caravan site and called into this place to buy a magazine. Absolute rubbish. This establishment wont serve the needs of the village at all. In the best interests of the village, the current owners should bail and let somebody come in who can meet the community needs, put the essentials on the shelves and become a proper village PO and shop.

Such poor customer service given, owner in wrong profession for sure. I can see a lot of local people not supporting this establishment.

Incredibly rude, unhelpful staff who would much rather be on their phone than engage in any sort of conversation with you. They refused to serve us and lied saying that they were on strike. When we checked the Royal Mail website, the strike applied to Royal Mail delivery only. They just couldn’t be bothered. We had to drive to Eynsham Post Office instead, where the customer service is far better. You actually get eye contact, and a smile.

I can’t understand how this Post Office has survived all this time with such poor service.
