Town Street Post Office

Always found the staff in the post office here to be helpful. Although the post office is within a mini mart, there is a dedicated post office counter (queue separately) with a self service unit as well so you can get on and print and pay for labels yourself. Once finished, the person working at the counter will take your parcel and place it in the postal bag for collection. Really handy post office I use it a lot and have never had a bad experience.

I had parcels with a sticker for shipping from royal mail, but the ladies did not accept it because the bar code did not read the scanner, as I asked them to make a new label and i pay again, they still did not accept the parcels. because I have to re-address. it happened the second time at this post office . In Effect i Lost The customer !!!

Closes at 1pm on the weekends!
The manager running the post office shuts up at 1pm on the weekends even though online and in store signs say it’s open until 3pm. Staff I spoke to were very polite and apologetic, so be kind to them as it’s not their fault if management aren’t doing their job properly.

I've got to say, the service is usually awful. There's usually the same miserable woman on the counter who is SO rude and unpleasant. Opening hours actually 7-3. Much shorter that advertised. Then you turn up and most of the time it's closed anyway due to technical difficulties, till issues or not enough staff. Just awful.

Queue to ask if they would accept large parcel and they clearly stated they would accept up to 15kg. I said even if 6ft tall?. Her reply was its not about size, we accept if under 15 kg. So brought in parcel to send. Stood and queued again for 15 minutes. For her to say she doesn't have room to store it so can't accept it. Clearly seeing me stood in Queue for post office with the item. Bad service

The poorest post office in uk. Very Rude, unhelpful staff. The old lady who’s always standing there with an angry frustrated face. If you are not happy with your jobs, go find another jobs. Rather than provide a poor service to customers. Avoid this post office, I’d rather go somewhere else, but definitely not come back to this one.

Today morning I going in to the post office at 7:20am they opened at 7am. I just going that early because I don’t wanted to stand long time in the queue.They told me post office is closed other half hour, because they have a technical issue, my opinion is just opened that time and the lady’s just counting a money from the cashier.2-3 time a week have a technical issue. Only one person in the post office day time usually waiting time is 20 minutes.

Currently only open until 7pm despite being advertised as 10pm on the internet. Not helped by sullen staff who give the impression their doing you a favour by eventually doing the job they are paid for. UPDATE (20/1/22)... Now service ends at 3pm until further notice, according to the latest signage inside the McColls.
