Tollerton Post Office

A convenience store and Post Office on the A606. This store takes Amazon deliveries & returns. I find it quicker than other Post Offices (it seems less busy). Friendly staff and there's dedicated parking outside.

I visited Tollerton Post Office today, to be greeted with signs that customers were only allowed instore when wearing gloves (against current advice for both effectiveness and PPE wastage at a time when its needed most) - i thought i misread the sign, due to current advice NOT to wear gloves, and the assistant advised i needed to buy gloves at 30p just to come in the store. Presumably I can come in with my own gloves, that i could have coughed into, or scratched my backside before entering and he would be none the wiser, making it a futile and pointless effort. However, I do not believe this has been done to 'protect customers', otherwise gloves would be free - i believe it is simply a way of cashing in on Covid-19 - a box of gloves costs, even now at inflated prices, approx £4 (retail - he will get it wholesale, at a lower cost) for 100 - working out at literally a few pence a pair, meaning a box resell for £15, ALMOST 4x THE HIGHEST POTENTIAL ORIGINAL COST PRICE - forcing people to buy overpriced unnecessary and ineffective PPE whilst the NHS and private care sector are screaming out for these, is absolutely shameful, and I hope people remember businesses like this who tried to cash in on peoples fears, once this is over and back to 'normal' - Tollerton Post Office, you should be ashamed.

Such great personal service. Small range of convenience food etc as well as newspapers, some booze and fresh produce. Post Office service is first rate always with a friendly chat.
