Royal Mail Sorting Office

Main sorting office for the Ilkeston area. You can pick up missed mail from this business establishment but not to send mail items. There is no parking except on the small road outside. Whenever you are picking up missed letters or parcels, always take identification with you otherwise it may be a wasted trip. Staff are always helpful and friendly

I woke up early to go to the collection office before work for 7am as per the opening hours on the website to find they have changed thier opening hours to 8am.
Ilkeston office is not just round the corner, and I work from thu-Monday and the office is closed wedensday therefore only leaving me an opportunity on a Tuesday.
Not Impressed to make this uneccesary journey.
No consistent postman and seems to be a different guy everyday. I have parcels that are due to get delivered that day then held at office presumably because of lack of staff to deliver. It just seems it takes forever to receive things even when coming from. Local areas. Bar far one of the worst sorting offices.

The service to our village from here is tragic. I get sent first class post daily from Nottingham. It is taking up to 2 weeks to arrive, but once in a while probably once a week it arrives next day.

Appalling. You need rescuing by a team who can be bothered to work

Opening hours outside the norm of everyday working week. Close at 4pm, really. Most people finish at 5pm. With traffic these days 8am not early enough. What happened to shift patterns so can be there to help.
As for postie. Dont get mail till late pm, often bent even though says do not bend.
Parcels often then not available back at office till next days.
Ps, last time went car park full and road and no one collecting mail?.
Really come on royal mail where has constomer service gone.

Should have the Royal part removed. Nothing royal about this mail service any more. Service declines a little bit more each year. Used to he top service when we had own sorting office in Heanor. 1 out of 10

went for a long walk to pick up my parcel. I've been there 16:40 Thursday. It should be open till 18:00 due to opening times online and on site. Of course was closed and me and many other people I met there just bounced back from the gate.

Ridiculously small opening times, only one day a week when normal people can access the site, if you're working away that day you're snookered.
Not the way to run an important national service.
