Nicholas Humphreys Estate and Letting Agency – Hatfield

I'm a landlord and made use of the Tenant Finder service after having major issues with a previous tenant. My experience with Nicholas was very positive, he was highly professional and communicative throughout, conducting many viewings before filtering down tenants to the best candidates. Finally, background checks were carried out, a lease signed and initial payments collected. I would strongly recommend this service and hope to make use of it again in future.

The staff here runs it’s own rules and regulations.
If you want to get out of the tenancy it’s very difficult as they will take up your time and give X number of reasons.
Was seeking legal option against them but it’s a waste of students time and energy.
Will suggest Strats or Raine.
If your in contact with Jack record your conversations as he go backs in his word and the Director Raj doesn’t listen to our side.

Avoid going with this agency! We have been left with no heating, hot water, broken washing machine and now no Wi-Fi. I have sent numerous emails, texts and phone calls explaining this is disgusting the way we are being treated! And yet again still no response. It is illegal to leave us with no hot water for longer than 24 hours and it has now almost been a week. It seems like no one is bothered by this as there is no matter of urgency. We were promised the work would start Monday and to my shock no one has been round and it is now Tuesday! If anyone has any advice on how we can take this further please let me know as this is now considered to be hazardous.

Raj is very good at his job. Right from the moment I met him from viewing the apartment at branch close to moving in, he has been very pleasant and approachable.
If there are issues that need fixing in the apartment or regarding my tenancy, he ensures they are addressed and resolved as quickly as possible.
Thank you Raj for getting things done for me especially at very short notice. You deserve more than a 5-star rating.

If I was able to give 0 stars I would. The landlord did not care about the house as there were serious problems with the house such as poor ceiling material and continuous leakage of water (health & safety hazard) in one of the bedrooms (It was evident that the landlord was poorly maintaining the house), this inevitably led to our of my housemates to go back to his parent’s home due to how bad the leakage was in his bedroom. The agency was lazy when it came to handling issues. Upon moving in we took pictures and made reports of any damages that were already there so that we would not have to incur these costs. However, they still had the audacity to charge us for those same damages that we reported at the beginning of our tenancy. It took 2 months for our deposit to come back to us. Not to mention that 2 days prior to moving in, police had raided the house and had had the front door chain locked. My housemates were waiting for hours for the door to be unlocked. Unaware with what had taken place, someone from the agency came and opened the door. The front door and back door were damaged and you can tell all the rooms were searched by police.

I started nursing in September at herts Uni and was looking for a place to live whilst studying my degree. I got in contact with Nicolas humphreys and they went above and beyond to help me find what I was looking for. Jack showed me a number of properties and helped me find a place which is near everything I need, I have been living here since October he has been massively helpful and made the start of my course so far stress free. Would highly recommend

Estate agents reply quickly, most staff are friendly and helpful bar one or two. At the start they were slow to fix things but now much faster. The emergency number is a bit useless as we were locked out a room and no one could get to us for over a day, had to break in ourselves. Regular inspections, with plent of warning which is good. Not many complaints tbh.
