Renting a property through Alexandre Boyes is an easy and pleasant experience. From the beginning of the process to the end, this company makes sure you're taken care of. We have been renting through Alexandre Boys for four years, and they are quick to resolve any problems that might arise.

The team at Alexandre Boyes (Lettings) are outstanding. Very professional and go above and beyond. The service from first viewing to management of our apartment has been second to none.

Dan Boyes recently helped us successfully sell our house in Tunbridge Wells. He is a consummate professional and has an excellent understanding of the local property market. We appreciated him taking the time to build a relationship with us and genuinely understand our situation. He was also able to recommend reliable local trades people and in general was able to help us in a number of ways, providing an excellent experience start to finish. Very happy to highly recommend him and the Alexandre Boyes team.

The three stars are for Alexandre Boyes letting staff. However be careful of their attitude toward some of their owner occupiers ? . Very considerate at first until you start to realise that your enjoyment of said property is somewhat rigidly controlled and monitored on a daily basis ? . My advice would be despite postcode envy as both a renter and a landlord i would always favour perhaps a rental where the owners do not live in situ . Seems to me that this creates unnecessary tension and associated problems that do not exist in law . Fortunately this is covered by The Landlord and tenant act circa 1988 . CAVEAT EMPTOR.

I can’t tell if the staff at Alexandre Boyes are incompetent, lazy, or simply don’t care about the properties they are paid to manage. I suspect it’s a combination of all three. In November 2022, I had the misfortune of moving into a flat on an estate managed by Alexandre Boyes. Shortly after I moved in, I heard scuttering and scratching coming from the attic above the property. I reported this straight away, and it took them a week to even acknowledge the problem. I had to follow up with numerous emails and phone calls (which they never return). Finally, after a month and a half, they arranged for pest control to attend to the property. By then, the rodents in the attic had managed to scratch a hole through my ceiling (see photo).

Pest control confirmed that squirrels were probably getting into the attic via trees outside the property, and that these would need to be trimmed. It also emerged that electric cables in the attic had been chewed on. This is obviously a serious risk, which Alexandre Boyes are aware of but don’t seem to care about.

A contractor has since provided Alexandre Boyes a quote to inspect for holes in the roof of the building and trim the trees, which has been sitting with them for weeks. The contractor himself told me they are always very slow to address any issues. I have yet to receive an update, and have now had a hole in my ceiling for over a month – in the middle of winter. At no point did it occur to them to even provide a temporary fix to the ceiling. In fact, they have ignored requests for one. I can still hear the squirrels running around and scratching, and constantly worry that they will do further damage to the property. This whole experience – and the fact that Alexandre Boyes have shown themselves to be completely unreliable when it comes to dealing with maintenance issues – has totally ruined my enjoyment of my new flat.

If you care about your mental health and the state of your property, stay far away from Alexandre Boyes. They seem to think it’s perfectly fine to ignore residents and leave major issues unattended for months. In all my years renting in London, I have never come across such bad property management. Alexandre Boyes should be ashamed of the incredibly poor level of service they provide.

We had bought our house 19 years ago through Alexandre Boyes and had excellent experience with them, it was only natural that when the time came to sell, we went back! We received an excellent service from Dan again. He dealt with us personally throughout the process, and to have found a buyer so quickly just when the UK economy was in such turmoil was nothing short of a miracle. He was extremely responsive and always kept us informed.

Dan Boyes was an absolute pleasure to deal with when selling our house. Not only did he price the property just right to move quickly to a very enthusiastic buyer, he was extremely communicative and able to nudge both sides into exchanging contracts far quicker than expected. Couldn't give a higher recommendation - were there six stars, he'd get them.
