the landlord (DH6 1EN) showed me around the house. both of us were very happy and I told the landlord I would contact Robinson to proceed with my application. the landlord said that if the agency was happy with the reference check, he had no obligation, he also told me he had a bad experience before and this was why he looked for the agency now. Robinson approached me after the viewing and asked for my detail and sent me the Homelet application online after we agreed that I pay at least 6 months' rent in front. after the agency told me the landlord changed his mind, I asked Homelet and was told that Homelet did not do my reference check at all.
Robinsons replied to my 2 star feedback this morning (trustpilot) and claimed that I upset the landlord and therefore the landlord changed his mind. total less than 5 minutes of house viewing, I did not speak much and only praised the landlord for their well-tidied garden. they seemed very happy about my viewing.
you ask for the viewer's feedback, and now I, being the viewer, also ask for the landlord's feedback. please provide me the landlord's feedback as to how I upset him and her, thank you.

I am searching for an apartment from abroad, and when I inquired about a rental the agency was listing, they essentially told me that an in-person viewing was mandatory to apply for the unit. This is of course impracticable for someone in my situation, so I suggested a virtual viewing, as several other agencies in the area offer. They responded that this would be impossible because a tenant is currently occupying the unit. But surely an in-person viewing would run up against the same practicality, no? The agent would have to arrange a mutually convenient time with the current tenant for a viewing whether it was happening in person or virtually. This policy, if it really exists, is both unreasonable and, so far as I can tell, nonstandard in the area; but truthfully, part of me suspects that the agents may just be lazy and looking for a way to avoid showing a property, or that the agency would prefer not to deal with foreigners. None of these possibilities is at all flattering.

Lettings department were really slow with getting the process moving and hard to get in contact with at the beginning, however one of the ladies was really efficient and good at keeping us in the loop.
