For 6 months I'd been looking unsuccessfully through the usual routes for a property to buy within my budget when I stumbled on a flat advertised by Big Black Hen. Compared to most nowadays the asking price was competitive yet fair, and it was the type of project I was looking for.There were a couple of issues during the sale, as there often is but to their credit they were eventually resolved. With a positive and direct approach to business, I found BBH better than most in the often tricky world of buying a home.

The best agents we have ever used. The reasonable and simple fee structure means you can be sure all advice is purely to optimise the sale of your property - and that advice was invaluable. Handled viewings very well, whether we were at home or not, putting prospective purchasers at ease. Communications were excellent, and Nigel was always available whenever we had any queries. Without their guidance and support, it is probable we would still have our house on the market. We have recommended Big Black Hen to several friends who are equally delighted.

Nigel has sold 23 properties for us in Hertfordshire over the last two years. Big Black Hen is completely proactive and keeps us in the loop on the sales process. He is realistic on price so you don't end up in the doom loop loved by many agents who will overprice to get your business and then leave you to drop the price once they have you on the hook, not a good idea when presenting to the market. Unlike any other estate agent we have used, he keeps a close track of sales and the legal process ensuring he communicates with everyone. So different compared to our experience with a conversion of 12 flats and 6 houses on the South Coast, sadly outside of Big Black Hens area, where the catalogue of ineptitude led to numerous sales dropping out and just not enough attention paid to managing the complexities of conveyancing.
