I had to endure living in a horrible room with Mould. Many phone calls and emails and nothing was really done. I even resorted to buying a air purifier just so I could sleep, but it didn't help. I stayed in a hotel for a short period as well just so I could sleep. Be aware the owners of the company are also Landlords for some of the properties they own, this I had to find out through a companies house check and was lied to and told "they needed to speak to the landlord". Expect many phone calls back and forth if a there is an issue.

After such an awful experience with another agency I started renting a flat with Capital Properties.
What I can say for sure - it's a good team of professionals.
I found the property clean and ready for new tenants. Ladies in the office are helpful and well organized. They respect tenants and they are happy to answer any question, as they are really competent.
So far - I'm very satisfied with Capital Properties.

Really good letting agency. Really nice team who always deal with stuff effectively. Going into our second year with them. Well keep and very affordable housing. Always respond quickly to any problems and have been helpful as well. Would recommend!

Today I got locked ( I left my keys at home). I knew they will charge me for calling emergency number however according to my agency I should pay 20 pounds if I call before 22:00 o clock and 40 pounds if I call after 22:00 o clock.(It is written in my starting pack) I called to the first number they provided in my starting pack and nobody took the call. I was trying to find some contact on their website unfortunately nobody responded to my email and office was closed. I found another number for maintenance and I called them to open the door for me. Guy came in 10 minutes and he told me he will charge me. ( which is absolutely ok thats what we agreed with my landlord in my tenancy agreement. HE ASKED ME FOR 69 POUNDS. I asked him where did he get this number it should be 20 since I called before 22:00 o clock and he told me thats how much he charge. I was extremely angry and he refused to open the door for me. Then he left and send me a text message he just want to help me and he can do it only for 40 pounds, thanks god for this amazing helpful guy who is ACTUALLY THE ONLY PERSON IN THIS AGENCY WHOS GOT KEYS FROM ALL PROPERTIES SO EVENTUALLY IF YOU GET LOCKED HE CAN CHARGE EVEN 2000 POUND unless you dont want to die outside of your house. I am finally at home since I would have to wait 2 days for this agency to open the door of my flat. I pay 700 pounds with bills and this is such a disgrace!!!!!! When I came back home I realize that even according to my contract I should pay 30 pounds before 22:00 o clock. Clearly breaking the terms of contract between the tenant and landlord, horrible unprofessional service, If I didnt have 40 pounds on me I would have probably died outside!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I provide pictures of my contract and starting pack.

I would not recommend this agency to students.
The house was not cleaned when we moved in, our washing machine broke and nothing was done for a week and a half. A connector under the sink broke which left hot water bursting out of the pipe which flooded our kitchen, the house was covered in moisture and we were left to clean it up. After that there was water damage in the fuse box and an electrician said there was evidence of a small electrical fire. The fuse would be tripping up to 8 times a day and the agency took over 6 weeks to sort it out. I rang citizens advice for some help on the matter, although the situation did resolve before any action was taken.
We have just been left with outrageous bills for cleaning and damage repairs. We are honest people who left the house clean (cleaner than it was when we moved in) and are very upset by the experience we have had with this agency.
The girls on the desks do what they can however there were times when we did not know who to believe and we often had emails ignored. We got told a repair man could not come to the house because of an emergency, when they did come they told us that they had got to the agency to get our house key but the agency couldn't find it so turned them away. After that we did not know who to believe.
To anyone who rents with this agency, take pictures of everything as soon as you move in.

Phoned a week in advance and booked viewings, instead of going home for Christmas I stayed behind an extra day for the viewings. They phone me an hour before hand to say it isn't convenient for the tennants. Despite their ability to give the tennants several days notice (and therefore me notice) they chose to only give the 24hrs they are contractually obliged to.
Further I enquired for at least 5 properties to make it worth my while staying behind, yet they only booked me in for 2! Utterly ridiculous organisation and a distinct lack of care about prospective clients, so god knows what they are like to their current clients. They will never have my business!
I should also point out that the staff were friendly on the phone however.

Rented a flat at Cathays Terrace for a year from Capital Properties, had no problems whatsoever! Good communication, all issues were solved timely, also got the deposit back.

Highly recommend!

Rented with Capital Properties for 2 years. The property was clean when I moved in, I was happy with the communications I had with the staff in the office, maintenance issues were sorted promptly and I did not have any issues at the end of the tenancy. Capital Properties have been better than other letting agencies I have used previously.
