An amazing breakfast, very reasonably priced. Lots of choice, I liked the look of the porridge station, but after a 3am start, something more substantial was required. Great coffee and a lovely setting.

What an absolutely lovely place to stop! It’s a farm shop and farm cafe. A pretty and clean seating area, very friendly staff and the food itself was very tasty. We stopped in the morning for a brunch, so I didn’t get to sample their evening foods, but it was a delicious and customisable Scottish breakfast, either on a bread bap or on a plate. I could choose to have two menu items like my companions, but I opted to go for a 7 item breakfast, I could have chosen more of fewer though which I really appreciate. Not too expensive either. The toilets were also extremely clean. If you’re travelling I really suggest stopping here; I will certainly be back again soon! 👍

Dog friendly, clean and lovely

If only all farm shops were like this. We stopped for a quick break. Loos were clean and serviceable. The farm shop had the best sausage roll we’ve ever had! Our puppy got a super warm welcome (Hi Roxy!) and loved it there.

Busy but plenty of parking and the queue for the loos and tills moved quickly.
From coffee and food, to books and toys with everything in between; this stop was productive and delightful.
Will happily stop here again though petrol was more expensive than just down South.
Topped up on my Scottish cider and Highland honey.

On the road to nowhere, needed to stop and then found this exorbitantly priced service station posing as a farmer's shop. It might be, but you'll have to plunge your hand deep into your purse. Coffee then I scarpered. It's up market, and put there to fleece you. Worth a stop but keep an eye on your plastic, the bank always has to be paid.

Cairn lodge service is very well laid out with attention to detail.

The entrance lobby is quite impressive, clean, bright and each unit has an excellent display.

I called for breakfast around 9am on a Thursday, there's a large selection to choose from and I had the 5 piece breakfast with a white coffee. The lady who served me was friendly, polite, welcoming and genuinely warm.

The breakfast, bacon, egg, sausage, beans and black pudding, all locally sourced, all tasted good, unfortunately not very warm, certainly not hot.

It can't be easy to keep food hot for a whole breakfast for any amount of time.
Because of the pleasant surroundings and the excellent service and lovely staff I would certainly visit again, I would also try the breakfast again because the food items were obviously good quality, I'd just like it to be hotter next time.

More the feeling of a French Aire than a traditional motorway service. A calming stop. Facilities good and clean. Good luck if you're towing a caravan though. The three spaces, shared with coaches are not drive thru so, even if you're the best ever at reversing a caravan, hope the one parking next to you is better!
