Just called in for lunch, with my sister and my dog, we were all made extremely welcome, Charlie was fussed over and he loved that. The fish and chips were delicious service was great. Will definitely return, highly recommend thank you 😊🐾

Super impressed with the food we ate at The Eagle. We both opened for the steak sandwich with upgraded chips/fries. I absolutely loved the thick cut truffle chips and could have eaten loads more. I was stuffed after the meal though and sadly couldn't fit in a dessert..I did see some on the next table to us though and they looked incredible so we will definitely have to eat again. Staff and ambience were superb too.

Came for a meal with the family, service was great, and the server was attentive even though it was relatively busy... ordered starters they were delicious, no problems there. Ordered mains they were quick to come out looked amazing! The fish was superb and described accurately. The steak, was the same, no problems there. 4 of us ordered the Beef Wellington with accompanying vegetables, no further description on the menu so would expect what was printed. Order came and it looked perfect... vegetables were excellent. The beef Wellington on the other hand was not what I expected, it was slow cooked beef brisket rolled into a ball seared with shortcrust pastry wrapped around? It tasted nothing like BW, it had a mushy texture, dry inside and bland... non of us could finish it. Was majorly disappointed. This i think should be described better on the menu! Especially when its almost £20 for the main course! I would have had something else!
Desserts were tasty and drinks were on the expensive side for the location.

Superb family usual pre Christmas meal out at the Eagle. Wonderful atmosphere and excellent food. Lynn the lady who served us deserves a gold star ( hope i spelt your name correct) Lynn. More than worth a visit or even a re-visit.

Sorry about the photos folks it was hard to get them when everyones scoffing 😂 and they dont do the food justice.

Have eaten here several times since it was refurbished. Foods lovely and well presented. Well staffed and they're very attentive. Not the cheapest, but that's to be expected for the food, fit and finish. Will be returning.

Both courses were really good. The Beef Wellington was cooked to perfection. My chocolate brownie dessert option tasted delicious. They happily substituted the whipped cream with ice cream (perhaps Wallings or English Lakes) due to personal preference.

The service was friendly. The waitress had good knowledge of the menu options. The service could have been a little faster, however staff shortages across hospitality are rife at the time of writing.

I live in London and visit family regularly in Lancashire. The prices of the desserts are almost what I would expect to pay in Central London. However, the quality justifies the cost. There is no compulsory service charge which helps reduce the baseline bill.

First time here and will return! Met with friends for a late dinner and it was very good. Quite busy for a Friday evening which is always a good sign. We tried a range of meat and vegetarian items and all were very nice.
