Went for Sunday Roast at Darcy's. I had the roast lamb and it was delicious. The restaurant was packed so I could forgive the slow service as it was naturally the busiest time . Staff were lovely and the food was excellent. The roast choices are beef, chicken, turkey or lamb, and there a vegetarian options as well. I look forward to visiting again. As well as eating in they also do meals to take away, a useful thing if they are fully booked and you can't get a table you can still get a meal to eat at home.

I will not go for a roast dinner anywhere else! You can tell it is freshly cooked. The meat is exactly how I like it. They inform you the lamb and beef will be rare, if you want it well done they give you a choice. Now I have a roast here nearly every Sunday and is it consistently 11/10 every single time. People who leave bad reviews have no reason to they’re just jealous.
You can tell they look after their staff, they’re like one happy family. They’re always smiley and want to help you. It is sometimes very busy and quick but understandably it is a small place. Very busy as everyone loves the roasts, one kitchen. Sometimes they need to be fast so they can serve everyone’s hungry belly’s.
Mostly good reviews for a reason.
Oh and the breakfasts 10/10 freshly sourced and delicious.

Never been here before but have passed many times and always wanted to try it out as live just round the corner. This Sunday was my chance. Came highly recommended by my neighbor so we had a walk round for a Sunday roast. First off, it's small and cosy, and was busy as to be expected. Only a few tables and all were taken, so best advised to book in advance. Lovely warm welcome and great atmosphere. We were sat at a high table but perfectly comfortable.
Portion size for veg and cauliflower cheese I thought was small to begin with for 2 adults, but it was perfect size to share. We polished it all off and was absolutely stuffed and very happy and ready for a nap afterwards!
Camden lager for the beverage was really nice, fresh, cold and crisp. Service was attentive friendly and lovely all round.
Roast spuds were banging 🥰
Would highly recommend. And I hope to come back again for another lovely roast dinner or see what else they serve during the week.

The food was nice and the service was good. The decor is lovely and there are no complaints. Was it good enough to get 5 stars? Well, no. For a £12 large breakfast and £9 standard breakfast, I didn't think it justified anything above 4 stars overall, especially when taking value for money into account.

My first visit to this bar and kitchen was for a morning sandwich and a coffee, it is lovely inside and the staff member was very helpful and accomodating. I'd recommend Darcy's bar and kitchen to anyone in or around the area. Can't wait to come back to test an evening out.

My friend and I visited Darcy's on Pie Night. We arrived quite early and were glad we had, as it started filling up soon after we arrived. We were given a very warm welclme, and the pies sounded mouthwatering good from the menu There were some additional specials, such as the turkey pie which we decided to go for. We skipped the starters, although they sounded delicious, and went straight for the main event, which was amazing. Really delicious food with the flavour of real home cooking and generous portions too, washed down with a warming glass of mulled wine. It was a freezing night, but we left Darcy's feeling nicely full and glowing. Overall, great value and an experience I hope to repeat soon.

Was really looking forward to this as it was the highest rated for Sunday lunch in the whole of Christchurch and Bournemouth but sadly we didn't experience that.
Staff were rushed off their feet which didn't make the atmosphere a relaxing one.
Being talked over wasn't professional if staff wish to talk best to go up to one another and speak quietly rather than shouting over us.
Glasses being plonked at the bar right next to our heads again not professional.
Family of 4 being sat on a small table for 2 adults next to a toilet door really didn't do it for me.
Food was a real disappointment, expecting quality chicken cut from a roast whole chicken but got a tough piece of chicken breast seasoned with what tasted like jerk seasoning. Not your classic roast dinner.
On a positive potatoes were lovely and Yorkshire pudding. But lets put it this way I would of preferred to pay 16-18quid for a toby carvery over the roast I got here.
Real disappointment. I appreciate staff were busy but when your paying good money you expect a relaxed atmosphere, professional service and quality food which sadly was missing.
Hopefully this will be taken on board and some staff training, and less tables so customers are not crammed in and feeling uncomfortable and rushed. Will then mean that customers are more likely to enjoy the atmosphere and staff less rushed off their feet, and customers will be more inclined to spend more time their and as a result spend more money on deserts and starters and drinks rather than feeling stressed uncomfortable and wanting to just eat and get out of their asap. Less is more. Quality over quantity.

First discovered Darcy's earlier this year to celebrate a friend's birthday and have been back several times for their gorgeously delicious Sunday roast menu. A cosy, warm and inviting interior complements the welcoming staff who go out of their way to make each visit a delight. Food is always fresh, hot and plentiful with a brilliant selection of options for those who love meat and those who prefer vegetarian and vegan plus all the trimmings. A special shout out for the lamb, mint and pea croquettes and the cheesy cauliflower and leeks! A beautiful example of what a local restaurant can be when made and run by people passionate about what they do 👌👏❤️
