On The Latch

We had a wonderful Afternoon tea today for our wedding anniversary! Thank you so much Tina, we felt very spoilt and everything was delicious! Xx

I'm a big fan of a full English and this is up there with the best of them. Quality ingredients, all perfectly cooked and generous portions. Staff were great, choice of seating and outside option. Only problem is I don't live closer!

It had lovely atmosphere, and the staff was kind and welcoming.
But the food was sub par. Unripe avocado, dressing-free salad, the vegan option was so weak. and a ridiculous plate of chips with sausage for £9?
Two stars for the location.

EDIT: Quite shocked at the owner's response. I understand it's hard to hear things that aren't praise, but to turn it into a personal attack on your customer is not the way to win people over.
But then again, it takes a certain inability to listen to criticism to get to a point where you serve this kind of food and expect five star reviews. I'll let whomever reads this judge if this is the kind of response they would like to hear if they have any issues.

Fabulous place to eat.
We have been here twice now and both times have been sensational. Great value, great staff friendly helpful and accommodating. Delicious food great location. Only down side is it’s to easy for us to be tempted to go every day lol.

Went with the Essex Caterham club we use this as a half way stop to have a tea and a wee
A nice range of food we normally would a bum and tea but there are an extensive range of cakes, I found the staff very polite, efficient and friendly.
We will using this venue often.

We are new to the area and I asked for a lunch spot recommendation. On The Latch was recommended and I'm so glad it was. The food was amazing, the staff were top class so I highly recommend this tea shop.
