Ye Olde Gate Inn

This place is a Gem, the pies was really good and other food that was being brought out looked amazing. Price was really good as well. My friend was drinking pedigree and he said one of the best he had for a long time. The service was brilliant as well 5* thanks will be definitely returning also dogs allowed 👍👍

Quaint old fashion pub off the beaten track, friendly staff ,good traditional food ,good covered gardens to sit in well worth a visit if in the area

Popped in today, hadn't booked and had one of the best 3 course meals today with super friendly owners and great beers too.
Garlic prawns were fantastic, beautifully cooked steak, followed by home made brownie...

Nice traditional pub, great food and friendly staff, worth stopping for lunch 😋

Had a fabulous Sunday lunch here yesterday. Expertly cooked and huge portions. Also 3 well-kept, hand-pulled cask ales.

Probably the best Sunday lunch I’ve ever had ( except for my good lady’s of course!) great food, lots of it and so fresh, my roast beef was so succulent and tasty, our party of 4 all loved the food, and the pub itself is so atmospheric, well done to all the staff for an excellent meal!

Great pub. Evidently very popular with locals but not insular by any means. The food was in large portions and tasted great, especially the dessert. The serving staff were all very friendly.
The one minor negative is that we were by the door that led to the toilet and it would slam every now and then. Perhaps some padding would take care of this. But this is very minor!
