Gousto

We have been using Gousto a little while now and I am so impressed! For someone who isn’t a creative cook and rely on same old recipes this is a godsend, my kids are excited to know what’s for dinner each day, great variety of recipes and everything is fresh and tasty , and so easy to make , everything is included ready to cook after a long day so no up and down to supermarket . No waste of money or produce , easier on the pocket and the environment…. I am thrilled … I would highly recommend

On the whole, I've had a great experience with Gousto. I used to cook infrequently but now I cook at least 4 times per week (and enjoy it too!). They have a great selection of recipes, and even after 10 months I still find new recipes each week (unless of course I have a particular favourite I want to make again!). It's also been great for reducing my meat consumption, and I've got some delicious veggie recipes in my repertoire now.

For the skill level involved, I'm still amazed at how great the meals taste..! I reckon I've made over 100 different recipes now, and I'd say around 60% of them are excellent, 30% good and 10% below average.

It's by no means perfect - I've had many missing/damaged ingredients, and more recently I've noticed them removing key ingredients from recipes (eg fresh herbs), which is really impacting the taste. For now, the good outweighs the bad and I'm pretty happy with it, but if they keep cutting corners with recipes, this will become a real issue for me and I'll stop my subscription.

Really disappointed. Thank heaven this is my first discounted order, definitely there won't be another one.
Prawns were outside of the cooler box, so they are off. Mushrooms are covered with mould. When I sent a complaint I was told that they can offer a £4.00 discount for the next order. I don't think so 😁 For the company which says that Fresh Products are their priority, this is simply appalling. Expecting a full refund.

Recipes are really repetitive, same seasonings and ingredients put in different combinations. It does seem cost effective, however it is only because they source low-quality ingredients. In the last box, all of the lettuce we received were infested with bugs / larvae. Would not use again

Only two weeks in but so far everything has been great. App is super easy to use, selection is pretty big. It has already opened me up to styles and flavours that I have not tried previously. While also being super easy and quick. Plus because you use all the food they provide my fridge doesn't have 3 week old food smelling up the place.

Processed junk food! . The veg stock contains toxic oils such as glucose syrup , sugar & salt. Prepackaged fake meats which are disgusting and unhealthy. So inedible I wouldn’t feed to my dog. Most of the box has had to go to waste in the trash as so unhealthy. Very disappointed with quality, packaging, freshness and everything. Unappetising. Unhealthy. Will stick to Mindful Chef. Either the standards and quality have gone down or some customers have very low standards when it comes to health and food standards. Great they are striving towards more sustainable packaging but should focus on improving the quality of their food and recipes.

Decided to try Gousto as a lot of people I spoke to said they were better value for money than HelloFresh/Mindful Chef.

So pleased with the box! Came on time with all fresh ingredients. Got a recipe binder style book with the order which I have added my 4 new recipes in. Made the King Prawn jalfrezi with jeera rice today. Was delicious and so easy to make. Really pleased and looking forward to my next box in a weeks time 👍

Little shame others below have had a bad experience, but hoping my next box is just as good as the first!

Gousto has been a great experience for me, is everything perfect? Not quite, occasional mishaps - but that's to be expected. All in all however Gousto has been a catalyst for me learning to cook, the menus are simple and easy to follow and the ingredients just right - as such it takes any stress out of it and you can focus on cooking, which makes learning techniques and flavour combinations all the better.

I suspect most people using Gousto actually love it and you just get the naysayers on here lowering the score, I've had over 100 deliveries and not had 1 bad meal, and only a couple I'd even term average.
