Horse and Groom Restaurant with rooms

Fantastic place. Really good food, service and a nice atmosphere. We had the tasting menu which was superb. Setting is really nice and not needlessly pretentious. Hope to eat there again when in the area.

So although this place is set in a lovely location and the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food looked amazing....the food lacked flavour and we found ourselves searching for the flavour of the meals. I had Pigeon to start and i was very disappointed with the lack of flavour in the dish as i was disappointed with my Lamb main. I've had Lamb on many occasions and this was the least tasty lamb dish i think I've ever had. Style over substance and flavour this place definitely is...

Our first time staying here and won't be the last! Claudia is an exceptional woman. She is welcoming, thoughtful and made our stay a one to remember. She made a fuss out of our dog and even brought down her own to play which not many people do. Nothing was too much trouble for her. The rooms are sparkly clean and spacious, has everything you need and on top of that includes a very filling breakfast. If anything they don't charge enough for what they offer. We dined here both nights. Had the tasting menu and the a la carte. Very pleased with both. Food was delicious and presentation was exquisite. You wouldn't think you are dining at the pub. We sat in the garden for both dinners, really liked how it was done up and the lights in the evening do make it feel cosy. All around big thank you from us. We would happily stay and dine here again.

Really wonderful food. Very classy, beautifully presented, and delicious. We sat outside and the garden was quiet, pleasant and spacious. Service is not the fastest, as you might expect from a pub, but we weren't waiting too long, and the staff were very polite and friendly and kept us topped up on drinks while the food was prepared.

We had a fantastic anniversary weekend at the Horse and Groom. The room was cottage style as expected but still spacious enough, modern and very clean; the bed was also extremely comfortable. The restaurant food, while not cheap, was out of this world and worthy of any top-end restaurant attached to a luxury 5* hotel. This was our second visit as a treat to ourselves and certainly won't be our last!

A new favourite! This has to be the best pub we have eaten at in Chichester/ever! The food was outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and well portioned. We were visiting to celebrate a birthday and the meal definitely lived up to the occasion. For starters we had the garlic and chilli prawns and chicken liver parfait. Our mains were ribeye steak, sea bass and then a turkey roast. To finish we had a cheeseboard and sticky toffee pudding. There were three of us, so we shared two starters, two puddings and each had a main. Although a small menu it covered everyone’s needs and demonstrated well thought out and spectacular dishes. The service was also attentive, welcoming and very polite. Thank you for a fantastic meal and experience.
