Got there at 7:55 pm only to be told that it had stopped serving food, so that was a real disappointment. Had breakfast the next morning and as continental options go it wasn't bad. Would have liked a hot food option.

The rooms are about 200 yards away from reception, in a separate building, and as the rain was torrential I got pretty wet.

Rooms were basic, but useable. TV was tiny and remote didn't work well, as the battery cover was missing causing the batteries to keep slipping out.

Overall a poor experience and not one I will repeat.

Visited yesterday for the Sunday roast and were made to feel so welcome from the start. The staff were all so friendly and very engaging.
The roast itself was absolutely delicious. The beef so tender.
Definitely will revisit again when I am next up in Morecambe.

We just spent a night in this lovely B&B while dropping our son to Uni.
Everything was good with few exceptions, and not necessarily due to their fault.
Lets start.
Check-in is straightforward. You get your keys and off you go.
Rooms are located in separate building at the back of the car park. If you have luggage, leave it in your car for check-in to save yourself dragging it twice. We had rooms 10 & 11. Very nice and spacious rooms. You get a kettle and decent amount of coffee, tea and sugar. TV is rather small and hard to see from bed and remote control seemed to have only half of buttons working. Bathroom was OK, although there was no gel/shampoo in dispenser and as we stayed for one nigh only we didn't bother to ask.
Big issue was that doors to room 10 don't shut properly and you have to give a strong pull/push making very loud bang.
Another annoyances (but not to their fault) there's roadworks in progress and temporary traffic lights are exactly outside the window. Not a problem most of the time until someone stops there at 1am with loud music playing.
Food!
Dinner was delicious.
We all went for pate starter and liked it a lot.
Wife had fish and chips, son enjoyed his beef burger and I loved my steak with tasty sauce.
Breakfast.
We knew in advance thanks to other reviews that it's only continental.
You are made aware of this only after you complete booking. Not exactly fair game.
Overall. Food was great. Night was just OK.
Good place for stop over if you are traveling far.

Chose this place based on decent google rating. Arrived to an empty restaurant on a Saturday night which in hindsight was the first red flag.

Service was pleasant though awkward and compounded by a total lack of atmosphere. Staff member didn’t know what beers or gins were available to order (these are not listed on the menu). Drinks were slow to be served despite being one of two tables at this point - they actually had their wine served before us despite having their order taken after.

Food was depressing - halloumi fries were borderline burnt, battered fish was greasy and strange texture, beef burger dry, chicken tikka masala was watery, inedible and served with what looked like boil in the bag rice.

Highlight was the goats cheese crumpet and broccoli soup which was well enjoyed.

We paid the bill and left promptly as we had a taxi booked. Still left a tip as our server was helpful and issues mainly beyond her control i.e. the kitchen.

We visited The County Lodge & Brasserie on Sat 15th October, the bar staff/waitresses were both fantastic and made us feel very welcome. However, that's where the good time's ended.
We ordered 6 x starters and 8 x main meals, the main meals came out before our starters and quickly got set back to the kitchen, I requested that the meals be discarded and fresh meals be prepared.
Five minutes later our starters arrived, nice and fresh from the kitchen.
Twenty minutes later our main meals arrived, overcooked, dry and tough. Two of the mains were chicken kiev, the chicken was so dry that my guest's had to request steak knives to get through the meat, all the juices had been dried out and was none existant.
Sadly, my party all said "never again". We complained about the food, no alternative was offered nor any kind of refund for the dreadful food.

Wonderful!
We had our Christmas Eve meal here this evening. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was clean, pleasant and peaceful. The food was delicious and nicely presented, I think the Coke I had here was the nicest I've had! Very reasonable pricing in comparison to other local options.
I Highly recommend coming here for a nice meal out!

What a sorry place.... rooms and enquire are tired. Worst bed and pillows I think I have ever experienced. Lovely bar but chef sick. Allowed us to eat a takeaway. Told chef in for 9 but in morning no chef til 10. Charging £9 for a poor continental.

Food was very average I had cottage pie and baby veg , no gravy and terrible pre packed veg cooked in a microwave.

Husband had Fish and chips once again average .

My husband wanted to enquire about a package break for a golf weekend for quite a few men , manager couldn't be bothered to even talk to him .

Restaurant seemed to be run by a lovely young man who was really good .

Won't return
