5 star food and the dinner menu wasn't available when we went!

They weren't using the Eat Out to Help Out government 50% off scheme which was frustrating.

One of the staff confused me a lot, offering me soda or water with my orange juice before asking if I would like it fresh, which followed a denial of being served outside despite it being empty.

Very nice venue overlooking the lake.

Staff there are very friendly.

Service was good, it was fairly busy and we had to wait, but it didn't feel like we had to wait too long. There were relaxed gaps in between courses that were appreciated, if you were in a rush you might have faulted them, but for our meal it was cool.

The menu is great, having a wide variety of options. The prices were not too bad, there were some expensive options on the specials, but there were also less expensive menu items such as burgers, pizzas etc. So I'd image something to suit everyone.

The kids menu was good value and good quality.

The overall quality of the food was excellent.

Some really interesting combinations and twists on traditional menu items.

If you've eaten at your average Mash and Barrel on holiday in the past - this is next level, much better quality. This is reflected in the price, but all in all we felt like it was worth it.

We were staying in the holiday park so naturally had a look at this onsite bar and restaurant. Initially quite surprised to find the restaurant closed Monday and Tuesday. And last orders at 9pm. We went back later in the week to be welcomed by a flutter of panic by the bar staff as we hadn't booked a table. Despite there only being about Five tables occupied. It seemed the bar staff had to ask permission from the Chef if it was ok that we sat and ordered food. So we were fumbled to a table and told we couldn't order food until 7pm, despite it being 6.45pm. so we sat and had a drink. Next to all of this we were told that no pizza and garlic bread was available, as the pizza oven was broken. The food that we did order was to a very good standard. For starters we both had the Duck Fritters. Definitely no complaints there. My wife had fish and chips which was ok, good portion size. I ordered a halloumi burger which was also to quite a reasonable standard. Nicely put together, well cooked, flavours balanced nicely. With a good size portion of chips. It has a lovely big outside seating area next to the water. The people were friendly and the service was pretty good.

Very rarely leave negative reviews however poor service is highly irritating. Have a lodge on site and use the swimming weekly with 2 young children. Called in post swimming for some food and after deliberation from several members of staff they informed us they did not have enough food to feed us, and that you need to pre book as the chef orders everything in depending on the bookings. Absolutely fine, however friends of ours then rang up to eat and were informed they could pop down at any time that afternoon to eat (not needing to pre-order). If they had been honest and said they would rather not have two children eating there rather than palm us off with an excuse, it would have been fine. But to lie to us and say they had no food left before happily telling others 5 minutes later they would be absolutely fine to come down is very very poor. Will not be returning there for food and will take our business elsewhere in the future.

Great food can’t fault it . Friendly bar staff and a bonus it’s dog friendly which is great when you take your dog away on holiday when staying in one of the lodges on the site

Due to current Government restrictions we were only able to use takeaway service but the food was delicious and piping hot used! We used the service 3 nights as no facility for takeaway where we were staying nearby. The lady there was very friendly and welcoming. Easy to order food and determine collection time.
